  • Patent number: 6807261
Abstract: A clock generating circuit generates a clock of a rate corresponding to a Dch rate in response to a specification from the exterior. A counting circuit detects completion of reception of one frame by counting the clock number up to “11” at timing at which a start bit detecting circuit detects a start bit in a serial signal. An S/P converting circuit fetches a serial Dch signal bit by bit in synchronism with the clock, outputs the latest fetched 10 bits in a parallel form and latches eight bits of a real data portion among the output data into a latch circuit at the time when reception of one frame is completed. In parallel with the above operation, a parity calculating circuit and flag/interruption generating circuit set various flags and generate a reception completion interruption.

  • Patent number: 6790651
Abstract: According to the present invention, hybridization reaction and washing steps can be carried out continuously without taking out the substrate from the apparatus, thereby simplifying manipulation of the experiment. A reaction solution or a washing solution is injected with a pump 6 and discharged with a pump 22 into and from a case 3 which accommodates a substrate 1 immobilized with biological substances. As the substrate 1, a disc-shaped substrate with a throughhole at the center is used. An agitator 2 is placed in the throughhole to agitate the reaction solution or the washing solution during the hybridization reaction or the subsequent washing, thereby shortening the reaction time and the washing time.

  • Patent number: 6786041
Abstract: A particulate filter (22) is arranged in an exhaust passage of an engine. When an amount of discharged particulate discharged from a combustion chamber (5) per unit time exceeds an amount of particulate removable by oxidation which can be removed by oxidation on the particulate filter (22) per unit time without emitting a luminous flame, at least one of the amount of discharged particulate and the amount of particulate removable by oxidation is controlled so that the amount of discharged particulate becomes smaller than the amount of particulate removable by oxidation, whereby the particulate in the exhaust gas can be continuously removed by oxidation on the particulate filter (22) without emitting a luminous flame.

  • Patent number: 6781944
Abstract: In an optical head of a DVD drive, a light-emitting device and light-receiving devices are disposed on one face of a substrate, and on the other face of the substrate, a diffraction light separating device, a &lgr;/4 plate, and a dielectric plate having a converging focus lens are sequentially, hierarchically integrated. With the configuration, a laser beam (transmission beam) emitted from the front light-outgoing end of the semiconductor laser device sequentially passes through the diffraction light separating device, &lgr;/4 wave plate, and dielectric plate having the converging focus lens to form an image on a recording face of a recording medium (optical recording medium). A reflected beam reflected by the recording face returns reversely along the optical path through which the transmission beam has traveled, the phase of the reflected beam is changed by the &lgr;/4 wave plate, and the phase-changed reflected beam is separated into two primary diffracted beams in two directions.

  • Patent number: 6769245
Abstract: A particulate filter (22) carrying an active oxygen release agent which takes in oxygen and holds oxygen when excess oxygen is present in the surroundings and releases the held oxygen in the form of active oxygen when the concentration of oxygen in the surroundings falls is arranged in an exhaust passage of an engine. The air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the particulate filter (22) is normally maintained lean and is occasionally switched to rich temporarily. When the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is switched to rich, an oxidation reaction of the particulate on the particulate filter is promoted by the active oxygen released from the active oxygen release agent. Due to this, the particulate in the exhaust gas is continuously removed by oxidation on the particulate filter (22) without emitting a luminous flame.

  • Patent number: 6731721
Abstract: The emergency call such as Enhanced 911 call or the like is also originated through an exchange such as PBX (Private Branch Exchange). In this case, the identification information such as the extension number of the extension telephone terminal connected to the PBX should be transmitted to a network corresponding to the emergency call. For the extension telephone terminal, it is necessary to unhook or to capture an arbitrary line by the line key, before inputting the dial data “911”. Independent of the capture of arbitrary line, the PBX searches a vacant line connected to the network corresponding to the emergency call, captures the vacant line, transmits the identification information such as the extension number, and switches over and connects the extension telephone terminal from the line captured by the terminal to the vacant line.

  • Patent number: 6708486
Abstract: A pair of particulate filters arranged in parallel in an exhaust passage and a combustion device for supplying to the filters exhaust gas having a temperature elevation capability higher than the temperature elevation capability of the engine exhaust gas able to raise the filter temperature are provided. An NOx catalyst and oxidizing substance are carried on each filter. When the NOx absorbed in an NOx catalyst should be reduced, the flow of engine exhaust gas into the filter carrying the NOx catalyst for reduction of the NOx is suppressed and a rich air-fuel ratio exhaust gas is supplied from the combustion device to the filter so that the filter temperature is maintained higher than a particulate continuous oxidation temperature in the NOx reduction temperature range.

  • Patent number: 6681566
Abstract: An exhaust purifying method and apparatus of an internal combustion engine are provided with an exhaust switch valve for switching a flow of exhaust gas flowing into an exhaust filter. By switching the exhaust switch valve, the exhaust gas is fed from one side and the other side of the filter, thereby stirring the soot (particulates) in the exhaust gas deposited on the filter having a NOx absorbent and an active-oxygen discharging agent supported thereon. Thus, the soot in the exhaust gas is continuously burned. Moreover, the switching of the exhaust switch valve and the rich spike are inhibited from being conducted simultaneously. In the case where the rich spike is conducted in order to discharge and reduce NOx absorbed in the NOx absorbent, the exhaust gas containing a large amount of HC and CO can be prevented from being discharged into the atmosphere without being purified.
