  • Publication number: 20090033589
Abstract: An increase in the circuit size of a drive circuit that accompanies multi-gradation is reduced. Herein, VI0 to VIM are modulation circuit reference voltages in which a prescribed range, i.e., from a non-emission voltage VEOFF to a maximum emission voltage VEON, is divided in M equal parts. Higher-order dividing resistor (40) equally divides the parts of the modulation circuit reference voltages VI0 to VIM (where VI0>VI1 . . . >VIM?1>VIM) and generates 2J+1 higher-order gradation voltages v0 to v8M (where 8M is equal to 2J) A higher-order decoder unit (41) selects two adjacent voltages from the higher-order gradation voltages in accordance with the data of the higher-order J bits held in the data latch. Complimentary MOSFET selection switches (47-1) and (47-2) open and close in accordance with the lowest-order bit data inputted to the higher-order decoder unit (41).

  • Publication number: 20090001897
Abstract: In the case of applying the ABL control to a display device having electron emitters disposed in a matrix, voltage drop caused by the scan line resistance is corrected, thereby displaying a preferable image without a smear. A high voltage load current limiting section for calculating drive voltage alteration data based on a high voltage load current detection signal from a high voltage load current detection section, and a scan voltage correction section for calculating a scan voltage based on the drive voltage alteration data are provided, thus the scan voltage in accordance with the high voltage load current detection signal is output to a scan line selection circuit. Further, a voltage drop correction section is provided to subtract the drive voltage alteration data from the drive voltage data obtained from image data input thereto, and signal voltage data is calculated and is output to the signal line drive circuit 15.

  • Publication number: 20080150934
Abstract: A current detection data is acquired by a scanning line current detection resistance, an adder-subtracter and an A/D converter. the current detection data is inputted to a voltage correction circuit, the voltage correction circuit output a correction signal. Using the correction signal, a scanning electrode voltage correction circuit performs the correction of the scanning selection voltage. Further, the voltage correction circuit generates data electrode drive data based on the current detection data and image data and inputs the data electrode drive data to a data electrode drive circuit. the present invention prevent a change of brightness and of smear with time.

  • Publication number: 20070103087
Abstract: To detect a dark current when an abnormal discharge occurs between an anode and respective electrodes, on an inner surface of a front substrate, a dark current detection electrode is formed in a state that the dark current detection electrode is positioned adjacent to the outside of a screen display region on which an anode is formed and on a plane substantially equal to a plane on which the anode is formed. Then, between an electrode terminal of the dark current detection electrode and a ground, an ammeter which detects the flow of a dark current and a DC power source having a preset voltage value which is more or less lower than a high voltage supplied to the anode are connected in series.

  • Patent number: 7190107
Abstract: A field emission type display device has a structure in which each pixel is constituted of a combination of a plurality of small apertures and a plurality of small electron sources. Due to such a constitution, it is possible to reduce undesired impact of electrons on control electrodes and the enhancement of the heat resistance of the carbon nanotubes of electron sources, whereby it is possible to obtain a display device of high quality and long lifetime, while exhibiting a high-performance electron emission characteristic. Boron (B) is adhered to carbon nanotubes, which constitute electron sources, through the small apertures of the control electrodes; and, hence, the alignment of the small apertures and the small electron sources is ensured and the area of the electron source is set to be equal to or less than the area of the aperture.

  • Publication number: 20070052655
Abstract: In a display device which includes a scanning circuit, an ON resistance of a non-selection switch of the scanning circuit is set larger than an ON resistance of a selection switch. By setting the ON resistance of the non-selection switch of the scanning circuit larger than the ON resistance of the selection switch, an element size of the non selection switch can be made small and hence, a chip size of a scanning driver which is formed of a semiconductor integrated circuit constituting a scanning circuit can be made small without adversely influencing the display characteristics of the display device.
