  • Patent number: 4432001
Abstract: The heat-generating resistors in a heat-sensitive recording head are preheated, during the serial-to-parallel conversion of the video input signals and prior to the initiation of the recording cycle, to pre-heat the recording medium to a temperature 10.degree. to 15.degree. C. less than the temperature at which recording occurs, thereby reducing the minimum recording time required to produce a high density, high quality image on the recording medium.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 6, 1982
Date of Patent: February 14, 1984
    Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Toshiharu Inui, Haruhiko Moriguchi, Takashi Ohmori
  • Patent number: 4415904
Abstract: A method of driving a thermal printing head includes expanding the printing time for a line which follows successive non-printed (blank) lines. In this manner, deterioration otherwise caused in the print density can be avoided without employing an auxiliary heater for the thermal head. Instead of expanding the printing time, the applied voltage may be increased to achieve the same result.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 27, 1982
Date of Patent: November 15, 1983
    Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.
    Inventors: Toshiharu Inui, Haruhiko Moriguchi
  • Patent number: 4407002
Abstract: The negative image left on an ink donor sheet after thermal recording is erased by heating the remaining ink at a point downstream of the recording station and either removing the remaining ink or spreading the ink to obliterate the negative image.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: September 27, 1983
    Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Toshiharu Inui, Yoshiki Kikuchi, Takashi Ohmori
