  • Patent number: 5996372
Abstract: An accumulator is capable of preventing an excessive enlargement of the flow rate of a liquid refrigerant which is discharged from the accumulator, reducing the quantity of refrigerating machine oil which is accumulated in the accumulator, and maintaining a required quantity of refrigerating machine oil in a compressor. Liquid and a gas which circulate in a refrigerating and air-conditioning circuit are introduced into a first space by a suction pipe, and the gas refrigerant is discharged to a refrigerating and air-conditioning circuit through a gas passage pipe, a second space and a discharge pipe 5. A liquid-level maintaining mechanism prevents a rise in the height of the accumulated liquid introduced into the first space. When the height has been made to be not lower than a predetermined height, a gas communication mechanism moves liquid in the first space from the first space to the second space.

  • Patent number: 5799503
Abstract: In an accumulator, an oil collecting pipe is held in a sealed vessel with the lower end thereof closed, the pipe has a plurality of oil collecting apertures spaced in a vertical direction and a communication port for communicating with a discharge pipe. The communication port is disposed in the vicinity of the lowermost oil collecting aperture or to the downstream side of the aperture. Therefore, excessive liquid refrigerant flow from the accumulator is prevented even if a large amount of the liquid refrigerant resides in the sealed vessel.

  • Patent number: 5108274
Abstract: A scroll-type fluid machine includes a fixed scroll having a spiral wall; an orbiting scroll having a base plate which is on one side provided with a spiral wall, the orbiting scroll having the spiral wall combined with the spiral wall of the fixed scroll. A rotation preventing mechanism prevents the orbiting scroll from rotating about its own axis. A driving shaft is driven by a driving source, which has an eccentric portion, the eccentric portion causing the orbiting scroll to carry out orbiting movement through an orbiting bearing. A counter-weight is coupled to the driving shaft in such manner that it takes an eccentric position at the side remote from the eccentric portion of the driving shaft and it has a play with respect to the driving shaft in a radial direction, which can balance with at least part of a centrifugal force caused at the orbiting scroll side, and which has radial movement controlled by the orbiting scroll side.

  • Patent number: 4667474
Abstract: An improved Stirling engine has a piston and a crosshead slidably disposed inside a cylinder and secured to one another by a piston rod so as to reciprocate as a single body with a space formed between the crosshead and the piston. An oil-deflecting guard for deflecting oil which is scattered by the movement of the crosshead is disposed between the crosshead and the piston and is supported so as to move with the crosshead. A first oil-absorbing member for absorbing oil which enters the space above the oil-deflecting guard is disposed on the oil-deflecting guard on the piston side thereof. A second oil-absorbing member is disposed between the first oil-absorbing member and the piston with a space therebetween. The space between the crosshead and the piston can be connected with the inside of a crankcase by oil drainage holes.
