  • Publication number: 20040210667
Abstract: A system enables information transmission between a server which serves information by its own communication format and a client which receives service on a general network, with an efficient and simple structure. A conversion server 101 receives a video transmission request message from a client 103 in the HTTP protocol, the conversion server 101 converts the message into a message of a format of a server 102, and transmits the converted message to the server 102. Then, the conversion server 101 returns video data transferred from the server 102 to the client 103 in the HTTP protocol.

  • Publication number: 20040196369
Abstract: In a terminal device of a monitoring system, a display unit displays a frame indicating an area to be monitored for an occurrence of motion in a panoramic image window and also displays an identifier identifying the frame. Furthermore, the display unit displays, in a time zone window, the identifier identifying the frame and a field in which a band is displayed to indicate a period of time during which to monitor an occurrence of motion in the area indicated by the frame. If it is detected that a location on the time zone window is specified, the display unit displays a time zone corresponding to the detected location and also displays an area corresponding to the detected location as a motion detection area.

  • Patent number: 6587870
Abstract: This invention provides an information sharing system management apparatus which efficiently manages a TV conference without requiring the user to join it. When a terminal A1 is started, a first system acquires information such as the start time, participants, and the like of a video conference system from that video conference system, and transmits the acquired information to a second system on a terminal A0. The second system stores the received information. When the operator inputs a conference record command on the terminal A1, the first system requests the video conference system to send a conference record including speech and the like, and transmits the received conference record to the second system. The second system stores the received conference record. The operator at the terminal A0 can display and observe the conference information and conference record stored by the second system as needed. Such information is updated every required times.

  • Patent number: 6578067
Abstract: In response to a request transmitted by a client through the Fire Wall, a unique service server provides a unique service to the client by using a communication port. Response to an HTTP request which is not directed to the unique service, the unique service server transfers the request to the WWW server without processing, it provides both services by one communication port. A request for acquiring a data service is sent by a client HTTP through the Fire Wall, the unique service server determines the client's request is directed to data provided by the WWW server or directed to the uniquely provided data. If the unique service server determines that the client request is directed to the uniquely provided data, the processing is executed. If the unique service server determines that the client request is directed to data provided by the generally used WWW server, the server transfers the request to the WWW server.

  • Patent number: 6567844
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for realizing the coordinative work environment adaptable to various forms of the coordinative work in a work environment composed of plural computers. A mechanism is disclosed that describes the coordinative work form and effects the coordinative work management process adapted to arbitrary coordinative work form, based on the description of the coordinative work form. The description of the coordinative work form is of what components “logical coordinative work” such as “conference” or “lecture meeting” is composed, and how a correlation exists in the respective components. Furthermore, what operations (e.g., add/delete the “components”, add/delete the “correlation”, etc.) the operations (e.g., start of session, add user to session, etc.) for “logical coordinative work” correspond to are described.

  • Patent number: 6564245
Abstract: A processing system employs a plurality of processing apparatuses in which a shared operation can be executed. To this end, first a type of the shared operation is designated, and then a target user of one of the processing apparatuses for a shared operation in executing the designated shared operation is designated, the target user being either a target user individual or a target user group. Finally, execution of an inquiry process is controlled in accordance with a combination of the designated type of shared operation and the designated target user.
