Patent number: 6704575Abstract: A cordless telephone set includes a base unit and a terminal unit. The base unit, which has detected by a terminal-unit detecting circuit that the terminal unit is placed thereon, awaits an identification number of the terminal unit to be transmitted from the terminal unit. The base unit receives the identification number of the terminal unit via an antenna and a transmitting-receiving unit. A control unit determines whether the identification number of the terminal unit is on a terminal unit identification number list of terminal units having a relationship with the base unit, which is recorded in memory. If the determination result is negative, the identification number is added to the list, thus updating the terminal unit identification number list. Next, the base unit transmits its identification number to the terminal unit. Likewise, the terminal unit updates a base unit identification number list.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1999Date of Patent: March 9, 2004Inventor: Toshihiro Fujita

Patent number: 6043504Abstract: A semiconductor light-emitting device which emits first light of a wavelength absorbed by a substance containing an OH group is sent toward a detection object. A semiconductor light-emitting device emits second visible light toward the detection object. A photoreceptor receives light from the detection object and acquires first and second received light-quantities derived from the respective ones of the first and second light. A processing system corrects the first photoreceiving quantity on the basis of the second photoreceiving quantity. The processing system determines the color of the detection object by the second photoreceiving quantity, and corrects the first photoreceiving quantity on the basis of this determination result. Further, it compares the corrected first photoreceiving quantity with a prescribed threshold value, detects whether or not water, which is the subject containing the OH group, is contained in the detection object, and outputs the same as an output signal.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1997Date of Patent: March 28, 2000Assignee: Idec Izumi CorporationInventors: Toshihiro Fujita, Ikkan Nishihara, Takeshi Takao, Shoji Fujii, Takaaki Douko, Tatsumi Tamon, Kimiyasu Kurita, Katsuhiro Shoji

Patent number: 5977888Abstract: A touch panel (4) and an operation part (30) are provided on display means (2). A permanent magnet (52) is mounted on a push button (32), and a magnetic metal plate (58) is mounted on a support frame (36). When the push button (32) starts to be pushed down toward the touch panel (4), the push button (32) moves toward the touch panel (4) against magnetic attractive force of the permanent magnet (52) and the magnetic metal plate (58), and an operation forward end part (46) operates a touch switch (4a). Stroke feeling results from this movement. Further, the aforementioned magnetic attractive force abruptly reduces in an initial period of this movement, and an operator of the push button (32) can attain click feeling. Since the stroke feeling and the click feeling are caused in the operation of the push button (32), operability is improved while making the best use of such an advantage that the touch panel (4) is of a thin type.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 1996Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Assignee: Idec Izumi CorporationInventors: Toshihiro Fujita, Akito Okamoto, Yoshitaka Tsuji

Patent number: 5341237Abstract: The effective rate of deactivation from the terminal state to the ground state of a rare earth ion doped optical material in a four-level amplifying or lasing scheme may be increased greatly by doping the optical material with two rare earth ions, an activator and a deactivator. Energy transfer occurs between the terminal state in the activator ion and the deactivator ion. The transition from the deactivator to the ground state occurs via phonon emission. By increasing the deactivation rate, the efficiency of the laser and the amplifier is increased.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 1992Date of Patent: August 23, 1994Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Genji Tohmon, Hisanao Sato, Toshihiro Fujita, Jun Ohya

Patent number: 5321708Abstract: A core of a fluorozirconate optical fiber is doped with rare earth ions, namely trivalent Dy ions. The Dy ion makes an absorption transition with excitation light generated by an 800 nm semiconductor laser module. Then the Dy ion undergoes transitions, namely a nonradiative transition involving phonon emission, a transition to a metastable excited level, and a radiative transition wherein radiation corresponding to the 1.28 .mu.m to 1.35 .mu.m range occurs, thereafter returning to its ground state level. The Dy ion having an electrovalence of three can be pumped with a high-output 800 nm semiconductor laser module and is not subject to saturation at a lower energy level of population inversion. Using an optical fiber of the invention, a higher gain is obtained in the region of 1.3 .mu.m telecommunications window.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1993Date of Patent: June 14, 1994Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Genji Tohmon, Hisanao Sato, Jun Ohya, Toshihiro Fujita
