  • Patent number: 6686877
Abstract: A satellite signal receiver includes a satellite signal reception unit, timer, and power-on/off controlling element. The satellite signal reception unit calculates a current position of the satellite signal receiver using an electric wave from a satellite, in response to a positioning request. The timer is used to clock an elapsed time in calculating the current position of this receiver. The power-on/off controlling element controls an on/off state of power supplied to both the satellite signal reception unit and the timer on the basis of information including the positioning request, the elapsed time clocked by the timer, and a reception condition of the satellite signal reception unit. Accordingly, a period of time for supplying the power is automatically turned on/off to be shortened in cases the positioning is impossible, thus the power being saved.

  • Patent number: 6604271
Abstract: A conductive damper for use in a speaker is provided, the endurance and the moldability of which are improved. A base is moved downward to allow an inner top mold to abut on a bottom mold, then the base is further moved downward to allow the inner top mold and the bottom mold to be applied pressure and the base moves down with being guided by guiding means. At this time, energizing means energizes the inner top mold to press the bottom mold, thereby corrugations for the inner part of a workpiece of the conductive damper are molded. At this time, the workpiece of the conductive damper is pulled toward the inner side thereof. Then, the base is further moved downward to press an outer top mold onto the bottom mold, thereby corrugations for the outer part of the workpiece of the conductive damper are molded.

  • Patent number: 6563765
Abstract: The clock system corrects the instant time using a signal transmitted from a stationary satellite. In the clock system, a high-frequency-signal transmitted from the stationary satellite is converted to an intermediate-frequency-signal by an analogue-signal-processing-circuit, then converted into a digital signal, and finally decoded to a digital signal by a digital-signal-processing-circuit. A CPU of the system calculates the stationary-satellite-time out of time data included in the signal transmitted, further the CPU converts it to a co-ordinated universal time (UTC). The clock system corrects the time of a clock circuit with the UTC and displays it on a display. As a result, a user of the system at a fixed point on Earth can always receive the time data from the same satellite, so that the clock system can keep time with high accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20020140136
Abstract: A speaker diaphragm is formed from a material combining a fiber-type material and a ceramic-type-coating agent including metal alkoxide, metal hydroxide, and a colloidal or fine-particulate inorganic substance. The combining process for the ceramic-type-coating agent is performed before or after the fiber-type material is formed into a shape of the diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 6448927
Abstract: In a position informing apparatus using position-measuring means, such as a GPS receiver, and communications means, such as a portable cellular phone, the operating time of the position-measuring means is shortened, thereby diminishing power consumption. Communications means (3), such as a portable cellular phone, of the position informing apparatus is provided with a position-measuring request button (3b) Position-measuring (1), such as a GPS receiver, is usually held in a power-off state, and the communications means (3) remains in a standby state. When the position-measuring request button (3b) is pressed, a control section (2) turns on power to the position-measuring means (1). A signal output from a GPS satellite is received by means of a position-measuring antenna (1a), and the position-measuring means (1) effects position-measuring operation.
