  • Patent number: 5301176
Abstract: A disk player for use of playback of both of the single body of a digital optical disk and another digital optical disk encased in a cartridge by a single player. The disk player comprises a disk tray which is mounted on a main chassis and adapted to make its reciprocating movement in the fore-and-aft direction of the player to carry the single body of the disk to a predetermined position in the player. A cartridge carrier is mounted on a sub-chassis connected to and located above the main chassis and makes its reciprocating movement in the fore-and-aft direction to carry the cartridge encasing therein the disk to another predetermined position in the player. A mechanical chassis is tiltably connected to and located below the main chassis and movable upwardly and downwardly. A turntable is rotatably mounted on the mechanical chassis and driven by a motor supported to the mechanical chassis. Either one of the disks carried at the predetermined position is mounted on the turntable to be played back.

  • Patent number: 5299185
Abstract: A disc player is shown which can play both a naked disc and a disc encased in a cartridge. A disc tray is movable on a single horizontal way to take at least first, second and third positions which are respectively the position for receiving or ejecting the naked disc, the position for practically playing the naked disc and the position which is distant from the second and third positions. When playing of the cartridge is intended, the disc tray is moved to the third position to permit the cartridge to take a loaded position at which the cartridge is practically played.

  • Patent number: 4996041
Abstract: A diagnostic imaging agent is provided for use in conjunction with a magnetic resonance imaging system for the imaging of spacial oxygen distribution in tissue. The imaging agent is comprised of a complex of oxygen-17, a biologically acceptable liquid carrier, such as a perfluorinated compound, and an emulsifying agent, and wherein the agent has an average particle size of less than about 0.6 microns, and an ionic composition essentially equal to that of blood. Useful information can be obtained, and in certain instances, therapy administered, by a non-envasive imaging technique relative to tissue perfusion by .sup.19 F-NMR (imaging of .sup.19 F) and oxygen utilization by .sup.1 H-NMR (imaging of H.sub.2.sup.17 O as a metabolite).

  • Patent number: 4390255
Abstract: An eye-refractometer device has a beam splitter, a projection optical system provided in one light path of the beam splitter for projecting a light beam into the pupil of an eye to be examined and scanning the light beam, a condenser optical system provided in the other light path of the beam splitter for receiving the reflected light from the retina of the eye, the condenser optical system comprising a condenser lens, a diaphragm member and a light-receiving member, and a signal processing system for processing the signal from the light-receiving member. Light beam rotating means for rotating the light beam about the optic axis is provided between the beam splitter and the eye. The light-receiving member is fixedly disposed at a position substantially conjugate with the cornea of the eye with respect to the condenser lens and a plurality of light-receiving elements are provided on the light-receiving surface of the light-receiving member off the optic axis.
