  • Publication number: 20090195560
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of driving a plasma display panel that displays an image with high brightness, high contrast, and high display quality by stabilizing selective initializing operation. To realize it, a plurality of subfields each having a setup period, an address period, and a sustain period are provided in one field period. Retention time for retaining voltages to be applied to a scan electrode and a sustain electrode is provided between time when voltage for weakening the final sustain discharge in the sustain period is applied to the sustain electrode and time when a ramp waveform voltage which decreases is applied to the scan electrode in the setup period in the following subfield. The retention time is controlled based on average brightness of image signals or ambient temperature.

  • Publication number: 20090122042
Abstract: One field period includes a plurality of subfields each having an initialization period in which a gradually descending sloping waveform voltage is applied to a scan electrode, a writing period in which a negative scan pulse voltage is applied to the scan electrode, and a sustain period. A sloping waveform voltage is generated by switching a minimum voltage in the sloping waveform voltage between a first voltage and a second voltage that has a lower voltage value than that of the first voltage. The ratio in one field period of a subfield in which an initialization is carried out by the sloping waveform voltage whose minimum voltage is the second voltage is increased when a temperature of the plasma display panel is determined to be low as compared with when the temperature is determined to be not low.

  • Publication number: 20090052116
Abstract: A plurality of capacitor cells (10) are layered to form a cell group. On the top of each capacitor cell (10), a pair of electrode plates (10b) is formed to protrude upward. The adjacent electrode plates (10b) are connected to each other. A connection piece (20) protruding upward is attached to each of the electrode plates (10b). The connection piece (20) is connected to a circuit substrate (30). • Publication number: 20090040935
Abstract: In an evaluation apparatus of a hub unit, a signal processing unit outputs frequency analysis signals which indicate such a result obtained by that an output signal of an acceleration sensor fixed on a hub unit by a magnet is processed via an A/D converting unit and an envelope detecting unit, and thereafter, the processed sensor signal is analyzed for a frequency analysis by an FFT unit. Then, an evaluation output unit evaluates damage conditions of the hub unit based upon signal strengths of specific frequencies, and overall values, which are acquired from the frequency analysis signals, and then, outputs the evaluated damage condition to a display unit.

  • Patent number: 7392158
Abstract: An instantaneous current and instantaneous voltage of a three-phase coil of a brushless DC motor are detected, and the internal condition of a compressor is predicted from these detection values. The prediction about the internal condition of the compressor is made in such a way that motor driving torque which is a parameter of a motor model is identified and poor lubrication, liquid compression or the like is predicted from this identified motor driving torque. This enables it to make, in real time, a failure forecast, failure diagnosis etc. on the compressor.

  • Publication number: 20070252784
Abstract: One field period is structured of a plurality of subfields (SF), each including an initializing period, writing period, and sustaining period. Performed in the initializing period of each SF is all-cell initializing operation for generating initializing discharge in all the discharge cells to be used for image display, or selective initializing operation for generating initializing discharge in the discharge cells having generated sustaining discharge in the preceding SF. The period allocated to the writing discharge in a SF for the all-cell initializing operation is set shorter than the period allocated to the writing discharge in a SF for the selective initializing operation. This structure provides a plasma display panel driving method and a plasma display device capable of inhibiting increases in black picture level and displaying images at excellent quality.

  • Publication number: 20070139978
Abstract: Losses are reduced in a current supply circuit including an inverter having a switching element. The dynamic losses in an IGBT element including a free wheeling diode are proportional to the product of turn-on losses and a switching frequency, and the static losses are proportional to the product of a current flowing through the IGBT element and a saturation voltage across a collector and an emitter of the IGBT element. When the breakdown voltage of the IGBT element is increased twice, the saturation voltage across a collector and an emitter does not reach twice as much. Therefore, the static losses can be reduced by increasing a voltage twice and reducing a current by half that are supplied to a load to attain the same power to supplied to the load, with the same dynamic losses.
