  • Patent number: 6719428
Abstract: An irregular color and irregular luminance correction circuit includes a memory, a CPU (Central Processing Unit), and an external interface. In the memory, luminance distribution values, luminance inclination values, screen distribution values, and correction values at n-pieces of levels at each correction point obtained at factory adjustment are stored as digital data. The CPU generates a correction value based on the luminance distribution value, the luminance inclination value, and the screen distribution value and stores these values in the memory as digital data. The irregular color and irregular luminance correction circuit performs irregular color and irregular luminance correction for an input image signal based on the correction value and an interpolation value. With these configurations, irregular color and irregular luminance caused by a display device and a screen in a projector can be solved.

  • Patent number: 6717375
Abstract: A discharge-lamp lighting device is provided which decreases arc jumps, suppresses the fluctuation in brightness of the lamp, and prolongs a life of the lamp, by positively accelerating growth of spots even when an inexpensive, small and highly efficient lamp is used. A discharge-lamp controlling portion (101) sets frequencies of drive-controlling signals (A and B) for drive-controlling a commutator (109) within a predetermined frequency range so that spots formed by arc discharge on electrodes composing a high-pressure discharge lamp grow through a cycle of oxidation-reduction of a metal composing the electrodes, and superimposes a triangular wave signal generated on the basis of the drive-controlling signals onto a current-controlling signal (F) over an entire period of the drive-controlling signals so as to make a peak value of the triangular wave constant, thereby adjusting the waveform of current flowing in the high-pressure discharge lamp.

  • Publication number: 20040054983
Abstract: There are provided an information processing apparatus, information providing apparatus, information processing system, and information processing method which can reflect the intentions of the operator of the information providing apparatus and reduce the loads associated with processing in a server without harming user's convenience. For example, the information providing apparatus transmits the first list data to the information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus causes a function expansion program for a browser to acquire the second list data from the information processing apparatus and create the third list data on the basis of the acquired second list data and the first list data transmitted by the transmission unit, thereby causing the browser to display the window based on the created third list data.

  • Patent number: 6628417
Abstract: This invention provides a service which allows the user of the client apparatus that submits a print request to preview an image to be printed, and can reduce the information volume with the client apparatus to achieve quick response, and prints a high-quality image with the requested size. For this purpose, a center server (102) on the network stores and manages display image data, and transfers requested display image data upon receiving a request from a client computer. Upon receiving a request including a print size from the client computer, the center server sends the print size and information that specifies an image to an image server which saves high-resolution images. Upon receiving the information, the image server processes high-resolution image data to have the designated size, and sends back the processed image data to the center server. The center server sends the received image data to a print server to make it print the data.

  • Publication number: 20010007448
Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display section having pixel rows, and shift registers which drive the pixel rows. The pixel rows are classified into an upper blanking region, a vide display region and a lower blanking region, and a scanning period is classified into a vide display period and a blanking period. The shift registers are grouped into first to third groups such that the first to third groups are independently controlled. The first and third groups are subjected to shifting operations for the upper and lower regions during the blanking period, respectively. The first and third groups drives the display section such that blanking data is written into the upper and lower blanking regions during the blanking period, and the second group drives the display section such that video data is written into the video display region during the vide display period.

  • Patent number: 6243067
Abstract: A liquid crystal projector that has a plurality of light sources for providing light to a light crystal panel, which functions as an image forming unit in the projector. A plurality of light source driving power sources are connected to the plural light sources individually by means of a light source lighting control circuit. As the light source lighting control circuit, a delay circuit, a counter circuit, or a programmed microcomputer is used. By controlling the light source driving power sources, each one of the plural light sources lights up sequentially or alternately in time. The light emitted from the light sources is modulated by the liquid crystal panel to produce a light image, and the light image is projected through the projector lens.

  • Patent number: 6005616
Abstract: In a frame-by-frame color image pickup apparatus, images of light components transmitted through red, green, and blue filters of a rotating filter are introduced to an image pickup device arranged in an optical path with rotating filter. The cells in the image pickup device are grouped into cell blocks, each block made up of four cells arranged in one horizontal row and four vertical columns. The rotational speed of the rotating filter is increased, and the cells within each block selected by switches for reading are fixed when an image is dynamic, a quarter of all the cells are read at one cycle of revolution of the rotating filter, and the remaining cells are interpolated to form one frame image. Color breakup is thus precluded. When an image is still, the cells selected are switched at each cycle of revolution of the rotating filter, and all the cells are read over four cycles of revolution of the rotating filter. Thus, a high resolution color image is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5809467
Abstract: A document inputting apparatus or speech outputting apparatus inputs and displays document data, specifies accent information, pronunciation information and syllable-length information of words or characters of the document data. The apparatus displays the document data in accordance with the specified information so that information such as the accent positions or accent intensities can be recognized. Thus formed document data is stored in a memory with the accent information, the pronunciation information or the syllable-length information. Upon reading the document data from the memory and outputting it as speech, the specified information is referred to for speech synthesizing, thus outputting speech corresponding to the correct pronunciation.
