Publication number: 20120213148Abstract: In wireless communication systems into which a relay device has been introduced, although terminal reception quality increases, data transmission by relay devices with low contribution causes interference in other data transmission, which invites a decrease in reception quality of electromagnetic waves received by terminals. As a way to resolve the abovementioned issue, as one embodiment of the present disclosures, a wireless relay station is configured so as to receive a plurality of data addressed for wireless terminals from a wireless base station, and to transmit data that are selected from the aforementioned received plurality of data and that are addressed to the aforementioned wireless terminals which are the destinations of transmission. As a result, interference towards other data transmission and reception caused by data transmission of a relay device can be suppressed, and the reception quality of electromagnetic waves received by the terminal can be increased.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2009Publication date: August 23, 2012Applicant: HITACHI, LTD.Inventors: Toshiyuki Saito, Kenzaburo Fujishima, Rintaro Katayama, Koki Uwano

Patent number: 8238927Abstract: Since the OFDM communication method does not select whether plural sectors use a same terminal as a transmission destination, or always use it as a transmission destination, giving a preference to system throughput deteriorates channel quality of a terminal in a sector boundary, while increasing channel quality in sector boundaries greatly deteriorates system throughput. In a base station, when a sector transmits to a terminal in the front of a beam, only the sector performs the transmission, and when transmission is made to a terminal in a sector boundary off the direction of the beam, a different sector transmits to the same terminal using a same hopping pattern. Thereby, tradeoff between the channel quality of the terminal in a sector boundary and deterioration in system throughput can be minimized.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2007Date of Patent: August 7, 2012Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Toshiyuki Saito, Rintaro Katayama, Akihiko Yoshida, Shiro Mazawa

Patent number: 8229490Abstract: A hand-off control method (FIG. 4) for suppressing reverse radio wave interference between radio access terminals and for accelerating hand-off, in which when a base station of greatest forward reception power has changed from a BTS1 to a BTS2 in a forward link, the radio access terminal (AT) alters the ID of a designated communication-destination base station to the BTS2 in an R-CQICH transmitted cyclically, and it makes a hand-off request after having increased transmission power of the R-CQICH a fixed quantity (403-406). The BTS1 does not transmit an FLAB and data. The BTS2 receives the R-CQICH (406) and succeeds in demodulation, thereby to recognize that the BTS2 has been designated as the communication-destination base station, and it transmits (407) an FLAB after execution and completion of a hand-off process.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2008Date of Patent: July 24, 2012Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Rumiko Hayashi, Shiro Mazawa, Toshiyuki Saito

Patent number: 8189701Abstract: A radio communication system includes a first radio station for dividing codewords into communication units and transmitting the divided codewords by modulating them in every communication unit, and a second radio station for coupling and decoding signals obtained by demodulating the communication units. The radio stations have common information of first bits, equal to maximum bits per symbol of the communication units, and an encoding type list. The first station modulates and transmits the communication units with a modulation type with second bits. The second radio station receives the communication units modulated by the first radio station, demodulates the communication units with a modulation type with third bits, combines and decodes the demodulated signals with encoding types in the encoding type list, and obtains a result of the decoding, as reception information, by an encoding type in which no error is detected in the result of decoding.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2010Date of Patent: May 29, 2012Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Satoshi Tamaki, Takashi Yano, Toshiyuki Saito, Seishi Hanaoka

Publication number: 20120127888Abstract: In a wireless communication system, when data communication is performed between a relay device and a terminal (in a second path), the same amount of data is required to be transferred between a base station and the relay device (in a third path). An amount of wireless communication resources required is obtained by adding an amount inversely proportional to a capacity of each of the second and third wireless transmission-paths. Therefore, the amount inversely proportional to the capacity of the third path is consumed in excess. Based on a channel quality of a first wireless channel between the base station and the terminal, a channel quality of a second wireless channel between the terminal and the relay station, and a channel quality of a third wireless channel between the base station and the relay station, it is determined whether data communication between the base station and the terminal is relayed.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 14, 2009Publication date: May 24, 2012Inventors: Kenzaburo Fujishima, Toshiyuki Saito, Yuta Muto, Kouki Uwano

Patent number: 8160022Abstract: A wireless access terminal, after handoff, adds channel quality information calculated in the wireless access terminal to a header of transmit data and transmits this data until a wireless base station succeeds in receiving at least one or more packets. The wireless base station, when having succeeded in receiving a packet for the first time after the handoff, extracts the channel quality information from a received header to initialize channel quality information inside the wireless base station. Subsequently, the wireless base station autonomously updates the channel quality information in response to success or failure of packet reception and controls the transmission rate.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2008Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Shiro Mazawa, Toshiyuki Saito, Keisuke Takeuchi, Rintaro Katayama

Patent number: 7995520Abstract: The present invention provides a wireless communication system and a terminal. A base station notifies terminals of an intensity of a received interference power. The terminal controls a transmission power for transmitting data to the base station, which is one of base stations and to which data is to be transmitted, by referencing an intensity of interference power (OSI) notified from base stations to which data is not to be transmitted. The terminal calculates a decision value for increasing/decreasing the transmission power, wherein the decision value is variable according to the current transmission power of the terminal and propagation attenuations between the terminal and the base stations to which data is not to be transmitted, and variably controls the amount of transmission power increase/decrease according to the decision value for increasing/decreasing a transmission power.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2007Date of Patent: August 9, 2011Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Keisuke Takeuchi, Toshiyuki Saito, Rintaro Katayama, Shiro Mazawa, Akihiko Yoshida
