  • Patent number: 12655963
Abstract: A linear luminaire includes an enclosure with a top that is at least translucent. The enclosure may be extruded from a plastic or, in some cases, co-extruded with two different materials so that the pair of sidewalls can be made of an opaque material. The enclosure may be open along a bottom side opposite the top. In some embodiments, an elongate rigid printed circuit board (PCB) carrying LED light engines is installed between the pair of sidewalls in slot structure defined on respective inner faces. The PCB may carry connecting structure staggered along the length of its underside. In some embodiments, the PCB may be adapted to accept high-voltage alternating current (AC) directly, without converting the power to another form.

  • Publication number: 20260156729
Abstract: A lighting circuit for solid-state lighting, such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), is configured to produce reduced visible flicker. The lighting circuit may accept time-varying input power, such as alternating current (AC) power or rectified AC power. Within the circuit, a plurality of LED light engines are grouped in sets. Some of the sets receive unaltered input power, while other sets receive input power that has been shifted in phase. The phases of the sets of LED light engines are coordinated such that, at any time during the power cycle, at least one set of LED light engines is illuminated, and the lighting circuit as a whole produces a substantially constant luminous flux over the entire power cycle. LED light engines from different sets may be grouped or clustered together on a printed circuit board such that, in the aggregate, they do not produce the illusion of movement during illumination.

  • Publication number: 20250084971
Abstract: A printed circuit board (PCB) is adapted to accept high-voltage, alternating-current (AC) power. Mounted on the PCB are two series of LED light engines. A first series of LED light engines is configured to illuminate during a first portion of the AC power cycle, and a second series of LED light engines is configured to illuminate during a second portion of the AC power cycle. The first portion and the second portion are different from one another. For example, the first series may be configured to illuminate during the positive half-cycle, and the second series may be configured to illuminate during the negative half-cycle. LED light engines of the first series and the second series may be interdigitated with one another on the PCB.

  • Patent number: 11555609
Abstract: An under-counter lighting system places a light-guide panel (LGP) or a set of LGPs under a countertop, or another such work surface, in order to backlight it. Specifically, a base layer is secured to a support, such as a cabinet. The base layer includes a support layer and a number of support posts attached to the support layer. An LGP layer includes the LGP or LGPs. Each of the LGPs has openings that correspond to positions of the support posts, such that the LGPs receive the support posts through their thicknesses. A countertop is secured to the tops of the support posts and may have a depending lip or other such feature sufficient to hide the base layer and the LGP layer. The resulting light, usually at least partially transmitted through the countertop itself, can serve as ambient light, task light, or accent light, depending on the installation.
