  • Publication number: 20210142193
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for grouping target entities into clusters. A base association in which a cluster is associated with each of the target entities is determined in a computation step for the target entities as a function of an association for entities. Inference rules are determined as a function of the association for entities and as a function of the base association, each of the inference rules defining an association of entities with one of the clusters. An altered association is determined as a function of the association for entities and the inference rules. A check is made as to whether a difference between the base association and the altered association falls below a threshold value. When it does, an association of the target entities with the clusters is output or stored. Otherwise, a feedback value is determined as a function of the difference.

  • Patent number: 11003496
Abstract: In one embodiment, performance-based multi-mode task dispatching for high temperature avoidance in accordance with the present description, includes selecting processor cores as available to receive a dispatched task. Tasks are dispatched to a set of available processor cores for processing in a performance-based dispatching mode. If monitored temperature rises above a threshold temperature value, task dispatching logic switches to a thermal-based dispatching mode. If a monitored temperature falls below another threshold temperature value, dispatching logic switches back to the performance-based dispatching mode. If a monitored temperature of an individual processor core rises above a threshold temperature value, the processor core is redesignated as unavailable to receive a dispatched task. If the temperature of an individual processor core falls below another threshold temperature value, the processor core is redesignated as available to receive a dispatched task.

  • Patent number: 10996994
Abstract: A plurality of ordered lists of dispatch queues corresponding to a plurality of processing entities are maintained, wherein each dispatch queue includes one or more task control blocks or is empty. A determination is made as to whether a primary dispatch queue of a processing entity is empty in an ordered list of dispatch queues for the processing entity. In response to determining that the primary dispatch queue of the processing entity is empty, a task control block is selected for processing by the processing entity from another dispatch queue of the ordered list of dispatch queues for the processing entity, wherein the another dispatch queue from which the task control block is selected meets a threshold criteria for the processing entity.

  • Patent number: 10983946
Abstract: A centralized communication system (CCS) is disclosed that provides a modular, extendible, and scalable communication system that can exchange information between any information systems or networked devices. Information from a single source device or system can be selectively broadcast to one or more predetermined destination devices and systems rather than broadcast to every device on the network. Information may be filtered and processed at one or more selectable points in the communication flow between systems. In certain embodiments, an incoming message is received from the source device in the native message format using the native protocol of the source device and converted to an internal messaging format for internal handling within the CCS, then converted to the native message format of a receiving system and sent to the receiving system using its native protocol. In certain embodiments, a graphical representation of the topology of the CCS may be provided.

  • Publication number: 20210100389
Abstract: A motor driven system for raising and lowering a window covering executes motor ramp trajectory speed control. The motor ramp trajectory limits acceleration of an external motor from the idle (stationary) state to full operating speed, and limits deceleration of the motor from full operating speed back to the idle state. This function reduces stresses on a continuous cord loop drive mechanism. A control system manages solar heating effects in response to sunlight entrance conditions such as system sensor outputs, external weather forecasts, and other data sources. The system automatically opens or close the window covering to increase or decrease admitted sunlight under appropriate conditions. The input interface of the control system includes a visual display and input axis, which are aligned vertically if the window covering mechanism raises and lowers the window covering, and are aligned horizontally if the window covering mechanism laterally opens and closes the window covering.

  • Patent number: 10956322
Abstract: In one embodiment, storage drive dependent track removal processing logic performs destage tasks for tracks cached in a cache as a function of whether the storage drive is classified as a fast class or as slow class of storage drives, for example. In one embodiment, a destage task configured for a slow class storage drive, transfers an entry for a track selected for destaging from a main cache list to a wait cache list to await destaging to the slow class drive. A destage task configured for a fast class storage drive allows the cache list entry for the selected track to remain on the main cache list while the selected track is being destaged to the fast class storage drive, thereby bypassing the transfer of the entry to a wait cache list. Other features and aspects may be realized, depending upon the particular application.
