    Abstract: A compressor includes a housing; a compressor liner positioned within the housing and at least partially defining a first cylinder with an inlet and an outlet; a piston positioned within the first cylinder and configured to compress air flowing into the first cylinder through the inlet; a cylinder head at least partially defining the first cylinder; and a sealing assembly for sealing an interface between the compressor liner and the cylinder head. The sealing assembly includes a ring seal at an interface between the cylinder head and the compressor liner; a vent port on an opposite side of the ring seal from the first cylinder; and a vent tube extending between the vent port and the inlet such that air leaking through the ring seal from the first cylinder flows through the vent port, through the vent tube, and into the inlet.

    Abstract: The structural wall of a luminaire has one or more light source retention cavities for holding area light sources such as OLED panels, and a wire chase or chases that extend from one light source cavity to another light source cavity in the structural wall, and/or from a light source cavity to a wire feed point for the structural wall. The wire chase or chases have a wire retaining bottom channel and a constricted wire entry opening at the top of the wire chase that is narrow in relation to the wire retaining bottom channel for capturing the wires therein. In another aspect of the invention, the wire chase or chases can be manufactured as separate parts, which can be inserted into the structural wall of the luminaire.

    Abstract: A regulator system for a charge pump system divides the binary decoding into two branches. One controls a set of parallel connected resistors for fine output voltage steps. The other branch controls a serial resistor to provide the large step size. For example, a 9-bit digital input signal is split into 2 least significant for the fine adjustment and the other 7 bits for the larger adjustments. In the example of a 50 mV step size, in one current path 2 bits of the binary input then control two parallel resistors for 50 mV and 100 mV step size, and in the other current path 7 bits are used for one-hot-decode control serial resistors to provide a 200 mV step size. A unity gain operational amplifier and a high voltage device are added in between the two branches to decouple the parasitic capacitance of large parallel resistors from the other elements.

    Abstract: A method for fabricating a light emitting diode (LED) device includes the steps of forming (or providing) a plurality of LED dice, forming a plurality of wavelength conversions layers, and then evaluating at least one electromagnetic radiation emission characteristic of each LED die and at least one color characteristic of each wavelength conversion layer. The method also includes the steps of comparing the evaluated characteristic of each LED die and the evaluated characteristic of each wavelength conversion layer to a database, selecting a selected LED die and a selected wavelength conversion layer based on the evaluating and comparing steps, and then attaching the selected wavelength conversion layer to the selected LED die.

At least one of the electrodes may be formed by a) reacting two precursors to deposit a first conductive layer at a first deposition rate, and b) depositing a second conductive layer at a second, lower deposition rate by depositing a precursor layer of one precursor at least one monolayer thick and exposing that precursor layer to another precursor to form a nanolayer reaction product. The second conductive layer may be in contact with the dielectric layer and have a thickness of no greater than about 50 ?.

    Abstract: An image sensor pixel that includes a photoelectric conversion unit supported by a substrate and an insulator adjacent to the substrate. The pixel includes a cascaded light guide that is located within an opening of the insulator and extends above the insulator such that a portion of the cascaded light guide has an air interface. The air interface improves the internal reflection of the cascaded light guide. The cascaded light guide may include a self-aligned color filter having air-gaps between adjacent color filters. These characteristics of the light guide eliminate the need for a microlens. Additionally, an anti-reflection stack is interposed between the substrate and the light guide to reduce backward reflection from the image sensor. Two pixels of having different color filters may have a difference in the thickness of an anti-reflection film within the anti-reflection stack.

Methods of repairing a fracture of a bone are also disclosed. One such method comprises inserting a segmented fixation device into an intramedullary space of the bone to place at least a portion of the fixation device in a flexible state on one side of the fracture, providing rigidity across the fracture, and operating an actuator to deploy at least one gripper to engage an inner surface of the intramedullary space to anchor the fixation device to the bone. Various configurations allow a segmented device body to change shape as it moves from a flexible state to a rigid state.
