  • Patent number: 9959125
Abstract: Embodiments of the inventive concept include a boot loader update firmware (305), a system and method for producing the boot loader update firmware (305), and a method for using the boot loader update firmware (305) to update a boot loader module (160) in a device (110, 205, 210, 215). The boot loader update firmware (305) can include logic (310) to install firmware (315) in non-volatile memory (145). The firmware (315) can include a binary image (320) of the updated boot loader module (160). When the device (110, 205, 210, 215) is rebooted, the firmware (315) is activated, which can then copy the binary image 320) into non-volatile memory (150). When the device (110, 205, 210, 215) is rebooted again, the updated boot loader module (160) is activated.

  • Patent number: 9924196
Abstract: A method for real-time disparity estimation of stereo video data receives sequence of frames of stereo video data. Image-based disparity estimation is initially conducted to produce initial disparity estimates, and the disparity estimates are refined in a space-time volume. The algorithm produces disparity via multi-thread process in which an output is independent of the input for each step of the process.

  • Patent number: 9779901
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a high-temperature thermal pellet composition that maintains structural rigidity up to a transition temperature of about 240° C. The composition comprises at least one organic compound (e.g., triptycene or 1-aminoanthroquinone). The pellet can be disposed in a housing of a thermally-actuated, current cutoff device, such as a high-temperature thermal cutoff device (HTTCO). Also provided are material systems, which include the pellet composition and a high-temperature seal that provides substantial sealing up to at least the transition temperature. Methods of making such high-temperature pellet compositions and incorporating them into a thermally-actuated, current cutoff device are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20170230769
Abstract: A hearing assistance and/or noise suppression device leverages computing power of an external device with a digital signal processor, such as a special unit that is configured to communicate with a smart device (e.g., a smart phone, smart watch or smart pendant) or a smart phone with a digital signal processor. Methods include having a hearing transducer communicate with and offload computing tasks to an external device with a digital signal processor. Systems include a hearing transducer with transducer circuitry that receives, amplifies and outputs digital signal processed audio from another device. Methods provide self-adjustment and fitting through a touch screen interface, which can be conducted outside of a clinical setting in a real world environment, and method can include remote data collection and communications with clinicians.

  • Patent number: 9659372
Abstract: A method for disparity estimation of stereo video data receives a sequence of frames of stereo video data. Image-based disparity estimation is initially conducted on a frame-by-frame basis to produce initial disparity estimates. A plurality of initial disparity estimates is grouped into a space-time volume. Disparity error is reduced in the space-time volume to refine the initial disparity estimates.

  • Publication number: 20170097433
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to reducing noise in geophysical marine survey data. According to some embodiments, a complex-valued, directional, multi-resolution (CDM) transform may be applied to marine survey input data and a noise template. Global adaptation constraints and, optionally, local adaptation constraints may be generated dependent on the transformed marine survey data and transformed noise template. The transformed noise template may be adapted dependent upon the global (and, optionally, local) constraints, and the adapted transformed noise template may be subtracted from the transformed marine survey data to remove noise. An inverse CDM transform may be performed on the resulting data to generate reduce-noise marine survey data in the input domain.

  • Patent number: 9349169
Abstract: A preferred method receives a color image and a corresponding raw depth map from a sensor or system. Unreliable regions are determined in the raw depth map by calculating pixel reliabilities for pixels throughout the depth map. Information is collected from the color image, for corresponding pixels in the unreliable regions of the raw depth map, from neighboring pixels outside the unreliable regions. The depth of pixels in the unreliable regions is updated with information collected from the reliable regions. Robust multi-later filtering is conducted on the adjusted depth map to produce an enhanced depth map.

  • Publication number: 20140297192
Abstract: Methods and systems for interpolating seismic data estimate a first frequency spectrum associated with the seismic data using a matching point (MP) algorithm having a pre-computed term. A second frequency spectrum is also estimate for the seismic data, using the MP algorithm, an anti-aliasing mask and the estimated first regular frequency spectrum.
