  • Publication number: 20090129844
Abstract: An object of the disclosure is to provide a print cassette for producing a print tape comprising a structure which can avoid a bad effect on a feeding performance of a film tape in the print cassette and handling of a print tape when stuck to an adherend even when an adopted to-be-printed medium is a thin-film. A print tape 5 produced in a print cassette is composed of a first tape 11 and a second tape 13. In the first tape 11, a first base material 31 and a to-be-printed medium 33 are stacked via a first adhesive layer 32. In the second tape 13, a second adhesive layer 51 is stacked to a second base material 52. Then, a printing surface 11A of the first tape 11 on which ink 41 is put and the second adhesive layer 51 are overlapped with each other, so that the second tape 13 adhered to the first tape 11 to compose the print tape 5.

  • Publication number: 20080226373
Abstract: A lettering tape is formed having an integrated layered configuration in which a base layer, an ink layer, and an adhesive layer exhibiting adhesive properties when heated are sequentially stacked. When the lettering tape is selectively heated by a thermal head to form an image thereon, the heated portion of the ink layer onto which an image has been formed is adhered to the heated portion of the adhesive layer and simultaneously, the heated portion of the adhesive layer exhibits self-adhesive properties, thereby enabling transfer to the target transfer body.

  • Publication number: 20080222007
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for recommending a disposable absorbent incontinence article to be used by an incontinent person. The method comprises the steps of: (a) receiving information, from a user, about incontinence devices which are currently used by the incontinent person; (b) receiving information about the situation which is experienced by the user; and (c) selecting at least one article, based on the information received, among predetermined disposable absorbent incontinence articles. By this method, an appropriate disposable absorbent incontinence article(s) to be used are recommended depending on the user's situation. The present invention is also directed a method for evaluating the quality of life of a caregiver who takes care of an incontinent person.

  • Patent number: 7318681
Abstract: A label making apparatus displays a copy print setting screen to make a user input a number of sets or labels to be copied, and determines whether or not a value stored in a total number of sets in a RAM is 1. After the determination, if the total number of sets is 1, the print format input process is terminated, and if the total number of sets is not 1, the user is made to select whether or not a numbering print is to be performed. Accordingly, the label making apparatus can print on a tape having a half cut line which extends in a tape longitudinal direction and makes a plurality of the labels which is narrower than the tape.

  • Patent number: 7244142
Abstract: A connection structure or a fastening structure including a circuit which functions as a resonant circuit whose connection or fastening is confirmed by resonance of radio waves, the connection structure or a fastening structure has a connector for connecting a member to be connected or a clip for fastening a member to be fastened; a first circuit having first contacts on respective ends thereof; and a closed circuit functioning as a resonance circuit supported on the retainer or clip when in contact with the first contacts. Alternatively, the connection structure of fastening structure has a second circuit which disables a function of a resonance circuit upon contacting the first contact, and the first contacts and the second circuit are brought into contact simultaneously with connection of the connector or fastening of the clip.

  • Publication number: 20070098472
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, a transferor, a fixing unit, and a guide. The image carrier carries a toner image. The transferor opposes the image carrier to form a transfer nip and transfers the toner image on the image carrier onto a recording medium at the transfer nip. The fixing unit fixes the toner image on the recording medium. The guide guides the recording medium bearing the toner image from the transferor toward the fixing unit and includes a surface portion directly contacting the recording medium. The surface portion includes a material for charging the recording medium to have a polarity opposite to the polarity of a toner forming the toner image.

  • Patent number: 7148662
Abstract: A switching power supply circuit which is capable of reducing switching losses which occur when a switching element goes into the on state from the off state or goes into the off state from the on state. Switching elements are alternately actuated to on and off with dead times during which period both the switching elements are off. When one of the switching elements goes into the on state from the off state, a diode that is coupled in parallel with the switching element goes into the on state due to the energy released from a choking coil. Consequently, the switching element is switched on at a voltage of 0V (zero volts). Thus, switching losses can be reduced. Besides, when the switching element goes into the off state from the on state, the voltage rises moderately across the switching element as compared to the current passing through the switching element because of a capacitor that is coupled in parallel with the switching element. Thus, switching losses can be reduced.
