  • Patent number: 4988771
Abstract: A graft copolymer having dispersion stabilizing effect, which comprises on the carbon backbone thereof a polymer side chain comprising a carbon chain having a molecular weight of 1,000.about.100,000, a fluorine atom containing fluorine side chain and a hydrophilic side chain containing a hydrophilic group, the total mean molecular weight of said graft copolymer being 5,000 or more. The graft copolymer of this invention can be used as an excellent dispersion stabilizer for emulsion polymerization, whereby in emulsion polymerization it is possible to attain polymer particle dispersion stability to ensure that the polymer particles will not be agglomerated even if they have been grown to larger particles having a diameter of 0.5.mu. or more and that dispersion of the polymer particles having a large and uniform particle diameter is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4841547
Abstract: A digital communication system, in which digital information is represented by a quaternary information symbol (11, 01, 00, 10) and the double step phase shift, each step represented by (.pi./4, 3.pi./4, 5.pi./4, 7.pi./4), is performed per 1/2 time slot in correspondence to each information symbol, so that the number of phase shift per unit time in the case of the identical transmission rate can be decreased to 1/2, as compared with a .DELTA..theta./2-DSK system, and expansion of the bandwidth can be decreased to 1/2.

  • Patent number: 4807252
Abstract: The present invention provides a digital communication system in which one time slot is divided into a first half section and a second half section and the carrier phase difference .theta. between each neighboring first half section is set to either (.pi., 0) with respect to a binary information symbol (1,0) or (0, .pi./2, .pi., 3/2.pi.) with respect to a quaternary information symbol (11, 01, 00, 10). In addition, the phase difference .psi. between the first half and the second half of any time slot is a constant value .psi..sub.0 (for example, .pi.rad) irrespective of the symbol, or .psi..sub.i determined with respect to a symbol (for example, +.pi./2 with respect to a symbol 1 or -.pi./2 with respect to a symbol 0). Therefore, an arbitrary complementary characteristic can be obtained when differentially demodulated in a multipath fading channel, irrespective of the amplitude characteristic of a demodulation signal.

  • Patent number: 4776417
Abstract: A radiator is laterally mounted between a pair of right and left frames arranged parallel to each other. The radiator has an upper tank and a lower tank and is mounted onto the frames by means of pins and brackets, the pins going through orifices in the brackets. No particular fitting work is required. The number of the fastening elements for mounting the radiator is reduced and the assembly may be carried out more easily because the radiator may be mounted from the outside of the frames. Further, there are provided two upper and bottom discontinuous spaces formed by a shroud which surrounds the outside of the radiator, and heat generated when the engine is idle, may be dissipated.

  • Patent number: 4088527
Abstract: For joining pieces of rubberized tire cords or like sheet material end to end, a pair of coplanar tables are provided which have edges disposed opposite to each other in exact parallelism. Each table is equipped with a retractable stop for positioning a piece of sheet material thereon with its end projecting a predetermined distance beyond the said table edge, and a clamp for temporarily securing the sheet material in position on the table. As one of the tables is then moved toward the other, the pieces of sheet material have their opposed ends preliminarily joined together. The apparatus further comprises at least one finishing roller supported above the tables for rolling the preliminarily formed joint of the sheet material, which roller is in the form of a coil of wire effective both to smooth and to strengthen the joint.
