  • Patent number: 4747660
Abstract: A light transmitter, which transmits light from a light source through a light guide comprising an optical fiber flux and which includes an optical system provided with a light refracting plane and a cylindrical reflecting plane which are interposed between the light source and a light incident end plane of the light guide. The distribution characteristic of light incident upon the light guide is improved by the actions of said refracting plane and said cylindrical reflecting plane so that a uniform light flux can be introduced into the light guide. As a result, it is possible to prevent uneven illumination as well as sunburn on the light incident end plane of the light guide by the light source.

  • Patent number: 4746203
Abstract: An optical system is disclosed for an endoscope having a generally tubular distal end in which an objective lens assembly and an image sensor in the form of a solid-state video camera are internally housed so that an image formed by the lens assembly is focussed upon the input or pickup surface of the video camera. The video camera is disposed along or in proximity to the center axis of the distal end of the endoscope and in some instances is oblique with respect to the center axis. The video camera may be positioned in this way due to the provision of a reflecting surface which is angularly disposed in opposing relationship with an input surface of the video camera, and deflection means disposed in front of the lens assembly and within the objective lens assembly, or between the lens assembly and the reflecting surface so that an image formed by the lens assembly can be focussed on the input surface of the video camera.

  • Patent number: 4706653
Abstract: In this invention, an attachment for changing a view angle and visual field direction or protecting a tip portion and others is removably fitted to a tip portion of an endoscope inserting portion. A connecting member pulling in and fixing this attachment is rotatably and nonremovably fitted on the outer periphery of the tip portion of the endoscope inserting portion. In order that this connecting member may not be pulled out of the tip portion of the endoscope inserting portion, a groove is peripherally formed on the outer periphery of the tip portion and engaging members engaging in this groove and having an elastic deformability are provided on the connecting member.
