  • Patent number: 5996403
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring the sagging conditions of a sealant. The method is conducted by filling up a sealant in a retaining device, bringing the sealant into contact with a contacting device, moving the retaining device and/or the contacting device reciprocally and linearly to apply shear stress on the sealant and then separating the retaining device and the contacting device from each other to observe the shape of the sealant. The apparatus essentially comprises a retaining device for holding a sealant therein and a contacting device brought into contact with the sealant and a controlling device for moving the retaining device and the contacting device reciprocally and linearly.

  • Patent number: 5698656
Abstract: A moisture-curing urethane adhesive composition of a urethane prepolymer resulting from the reaction of a mixture of a polyether diol and a polyether triol with a diisocyanate compound, and a polyurethane compound resulting from the reaction of a mixture of a polyester polyol and a polypropyleneether polyol with a hexamethylene diisocyanate compound with addition of a monoalcohol. A modified moisture-curing urethane adhesive composition of a urethane prepolymer resulting from the reaction of a mixture of a polyether diol and a polyether triol with a diisocyanate compound, a first polyurethane compound resulting from the reaction of a copolymeric polyol consisting of propylene oxide and .epsilon.-caprolactone with a hexamethylene diisocyanate compound with addition of a monoalcohol, and a second polyurethane compound resulting from the reaction of a polyester polyol with a hexamethylene diisocyanate compound with addition of a monoalcohol.

  • Patent number: 5007383
Abstract: In a water-cooling system for a water-cooled horizontal engine, a radiator and a radiator fan are arranged at the front of a cylinder head which is mounted forwardly of a cylinder block of the engine. A radiator fan generates a cooling air flow which passes through the space over the cylinder head and toward the radiator, the height of the radiator being sized to match the width of the cylinder block measured in the upward and downward direction.

  • Patent number: 4825816
Abstract: In a forced air-cooled engine, a local high temperature portion is adapted to be cooled effectively so that thermal distortion and thermal breakage of a cylinder and/or a cylinder head caused by such a local high temperature can be avoided. To prevent thermal distortion of the engine, there is provided a cylinder jacket, for cooling part of an engine cylinder in a partition wall between the cylinder and its push rod chamber. As means for preventing the thermal distortion of the cylinder head, there is provided a cooling air passage in a cylinder head, and there is also provided a head jacket for oil-cooling around a divided combustion chamber so as to circulate oil through the head jacket and a radiator. Local high temperature portions in the cylinder and/or the cylinder head can thus be oil-cooled effectively.

  • Patent number: 4319542
Abstract: An apparatus for the preparation of blood smear specimens is constructed to successively discharge glass slides from a stack. A first glass slide is laid horizontally near the point of discharge and a second glass slide is discharged into a slanted position with its lower edge in contact with the leading end of horizontal glass slide. A drop of blood is applied near the leading end of the horizontal glass slide behind the position of contact of the glass slide in the slanted position and the horizontal glass slide is advanced to smear the blood onto the horizontal slide using the slanted glass slide as a coater. The slanted glass slide is then allowed to fall into the horizontal position and another glass slide is discharged from the stack into the slanted position, whereafter the process is repeated.

  • Patent number: 4103650
Abstract: A horizontal type Diesel engine wherein a gear case is juxtaposed to a crankcase axially of a crank shaft, said crankcase horizontally receiving a cylinder therein and a radiator and a fuel tank are juxtaposed on top of the crankcase. The Diesel engine is characterized by a breather disposed on the upper wall of the gear case substantially at the middle between the front and rear ends thereof and an oil partition wall opposed to the breather, the arrangement being such that even if the vehicle on which this engine is mounted is tilted, the lubricating oil contained in the crankcase and gear case will not leak. Further, a governor shaft vertically pivotally supported by the gear case has its one end projecting into the breather so as to prevent the oil from leaking into the outside along the end of the governor shaft.
