  • Publication number: 20070181006
Abstract: A support for holding a fowl above a roasting pan during the cooking procedure. The support rests on the bottom of the pan, and is also releasably attached to an end wall of the pan to prevent lateral displacement of the fowl during cooking. The support and the fowl mounted thereon may be easily removed from the pan so as to permit accumulated juices or the like to be scraped out of the pan.

  • Patent number: 6622616
Abstract: A poultry roaster for use on top of a gas-fired cooker includes a barrel-shaped cover that designed to resemble a beer keg and a carrying handle which resembles a pair of oppositely facing beer taps. An open bottom of the cover closely fits to a bottom pan having a plurality of upwardly punched lower heat distribution holes. The cover is retained to the bottom pan by a pair of latch hooks and mating headed pins. A heat deflector includes a circular plate for supporting a basting adapter, and a downwardly dependent annular rim which closely engages the bottom pan. The circular plate includes a plurality of upper heat distribution holes. A heat diffuser chamber formed between the bottom pan and the heat deflector provides even heat flow to an inner cooking chamber of the cover.

  • Patent number: 6427582
Abstract: A cooking container adapted for roasting large fowl has a pot shaped base member and a top member shaped like an inverted pot that jointly form a high heating chamber proportioned to receive a full sized fowl in a vertical orientation, A heat pipe extends upward from an opening in the bottom of the base member and enters the hollow interior of the dressed fowl. A trivet in the heating chamber holds the fowl out of contact with the very hot bottom of the base member. Relative rotation of the base member and top member opens a notch into which a meat thermometer may be entered. The roaster configuration facilitates outdoor cooking where available heat sources, such as gas cookers, barbecue stands or campfires, concentrate heating at the base of an overlying food container.

  • Patent number: 5906196
Abstract: A portable gas stove includes a rectangular housing defined by parallel front and rear panels joined to parallel, opposed side panels. A top opening at an upper end of the housing provides access to at least one burner, and a hinged cover is adapted to pivot to close the upper opening entirely. At the bottom end of the housing, a coffer is formed with a downward opening, and a pair of flanges extending inwardly at the side edges of the coffer are dimensioned to retain the disassembled stove legs disposed therebetween. A clamp is provided to secure the legs in the coffer for travel with the stove. Each leg includes a tubular main portion, and a top end having an L-section. The L-section is dimensioned to fit in complementary fashion over any corner vertex formed by the conjunction of a side and front or rear panel of the housing. Each corner vertex includes a slot extending vertically therein, and a nut is slidably supported by a nut holder for translation along the slot.

  • Patent number: 5722922
Abstract: An exercise machine has a base with an upright frame. A carriage is movable along the length of the frame and connectable thereto by a pin which registers with apertures formed in the frame. The pin is connected to a bridge with spans between cheek plates of the carriage. A lever structure and a butterfly exercise structure are pivotally secured to the carriage. Resistance modules are connectable to the carriage and the lever structure and the butterfly exercise structure to resist movement. A bench is provided for the user and is connected at one end to one frame. A stepper exercise assembly is also attached to the frame. A stepper has hydraulic resistance cylinders which include springs to urge the treadles in an upward direction.

  • Patent number: 5704777
Abstract: A gas burner arrangement for outdoor use includes a burner cup formed of a bottom wall and a cylindrical side wall extending integrally from the bottom wall in a smoothly curved radius. The bottom wall includes a central aperture for receiving a Venturi tube gas supply inlet connection. A pair of cylindrical flame screens are supported on the bottom wall of the burner cup, disposed in coaxial relationship concentrically about the central aperture. A top cap is secured to the bottom wall by bolts or other fasteners to secure the screen members in place in proper spacing and alignment. The top cap includes a domed center to provide strength to the cap and to facilitate smooth, non-turbulent flow of the gas-air mixture from the Venturi tube gas supply to the flame screens. The side wall of the burner cup extends higher than the flame screens to provide substantial wind protection.
