  • Publication number: 20240237173
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein may provide a system that enables game play or other application sessions from a set of candidate game hosts and environments to consumption devices of a user's choice while the user moves about their home between the different environments. The system may employ methods to determine where a user is located within the home, availability and selection of candidate game hosting and target environments, homing and direction of related I/O and audio-visual (AV) content for consumption. The solution accommodates multiple users simultaneously within the home, whether in single player, multiplayer using the same screen, or multiplayer using separate screen games. The solution may configure AV and input/output (I/O) such that multiple users can consume one or multiple games in the home simultaneously, whether in separate locations or when seated together in front of the same consumption device.

  • Publication number: 20240226718
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein may provide a system that enables improved input classification and processing for I/O devices. In one aspect, a computing device may receive interaction data from an I/O device. The interaction data may be associated with a first user interaction. The computing device may classify, with a first model and based on the interaction data, the first user interaction as an invalid input and may reject the first user interaction. In certain aspects, the computing device is the I/O device.

  • Publication number: 20240230372
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein include a testing apparatus on which a peripheral device may be secured in a predefined, consistent orientation. The peripheral device includes a UWB antenna on a first printed circuit board that is at an angle to a second printed circuit board including one or more positioning sensors. The testing apparatus includes multiple wireless respondents at predefined distances and orientations relative to the peripheral device secured to the testing apparatus. A computing device generates a calibration vector based on measured vectors from the first printed circuit board to the wireless respondents and predetermined vectors from the second printed circuit board to the wireless respondents. The calibration vector is used to calibrate a positioning algorithm of the peripheral device that determines a position and orientation of the peripheral device relative to the peripheral device's environment.

  • Publication number: 20240216801
Abstract: An information handling system may receive a first input indication from a first control stick of a handheld controller, wherein the first input indication indicates that the first control stick is in a first position, receive a second input indication from a first button of the handheld controller, wherein the second input indication indicates that the first button is pressed while the first control stick is in the first position, and determine that the first input indication corresponds to a first character in response to receipt of the first input indication. The information handling system may then select the first character based on the determination that the first input indication corresponds to the first character and receipt of the second input indication.

  • Publication number: 20240021316
Abstract: A data-driven, intelligent ergonomic behavioral aid based on uniquely captured telemetry and user behavior data is provided. The aggregation of the telemetry data and user presence events over time can provide sufficient context to understand user patterns and behavior as well as the user's environment. The provided system may learn from this data and recommend to the user best practices and actions to take to minimize the health risk specific to their behavior with respect to the computing ecosystem. In some instances, the provided system may initiate one or more actions, rather than a recommendation, that force the user to change their behavior if the user desires to continue interacting with the computing ecosystem.

  • Patent number: 11874972
Abstract: Embodiments of a new and innovative method for processing input touch data for a curved touch sensitive surface by converting input touch vectors to position states is disclosed. The method includes receiving an input touch vector based on one or more signals from a plurality of touch sensors; selecting a largest continuous segment of values in the input touch vector that are indicative of a touch sensor being active; and assigning the input touch vector to a position state of a plurality of position states based on one or more index values corresponding to the selected largest continuous segment of values. If there is more than one equally largest continuous segment of values, then the equally largest continuous segment of values is selected that corresponds to one or more sensors furthest from a second end of the curved touch sensitive surface.
