  • Patent number: 5701109
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay, said relay comprising: an armature movable between ON and OFF positions A magnetic core surrounded by first windings forming a holding coil to magnetize said core when a first portion of alternating electrical current is passed through said holding coil and consequently to cause said armature to move from said OFF position to said ON position, resulting in causing a second portion of alternating electrical current to flow through said load; said magnetic core additionally surrounded by second windings forming a load coil through which said second portion of said alternating electrical current flows when said armature is in said ON position, said load coil producing a magnetic field which counteracts a magnetic field produced by said holding coil.

  • Patent number: 4077303
Abstract: A mechanism for generating a high impact force for hammering, pounding, stamping, forging or similar operations. A piston is slidably mounted in a fluid pressure chamber, and has a larger cross sectional area at one end of the chamber than at the other end thereof. A fluid is introduced into the chamber under pressure, and exerts a net axial force on the large cross section end of the piston. One end of the piston outside the chamber forms a cam, which is engaged by a spring loaded cam follower to prevent axial movement of the piston until the force thereon exceeds a predetermined value. When the force on the piston exceeds said value, the cam is suddenly disengaged from its follower, permitting rapid movement of the piston under the fluid pressure. When the piston reaches the end of its travel, fluid is permitted to leave the chamber so that the pressure on the piston rapidly decreases, and the spring loaded cam follower acts on the cam to return the piston to its initial position.

  • Patent number: 4040682
Abstract: The invention relates to a mechanism for transformation of a rotary motion into a translatory motion or vice versa, consisting of a curve follower for co-operation with a rotary cylindrical curve body, in which is designed a curved guide in the shape of a wedge-shaped track in the body, and where the curve follower consists of an inwardly pointing similar wedge-shaped ring with a larger diameter than that of the curved body, and which is located excentrically in relation to the latter in such a manner, that the inner edge of the ring meshes with the track. The ring is the inner ring of a roller- or ball bearing or is incorporated with such an inner ring while the outer ring or parts connected therewith are retained against rotation in relation to the curved body or vice versa.
