The article in at least a part of the chassis region (4) comprises an outer coversheet (10) in the form of an elastic web material (11) constituting the sole component of the chassis (4) in at least 20% of the total surface area of the article (1), said elastic laminate having an opacity of at least 40% and a basis weight of no more than 100 g/m2.

The material sheets forming the stack are placed with their transverse end portions partially overlapping material sheets are folded at least once along a fold line in the longitudinal direction to form an assembled web, which direction corresponds to the dispensing direction of the stack. The assembled web is folded along fold lines in the transverse direction to form the stack of material sheets. The material sheets are interlinked in such a way that, when a first material sheet is extracted, a predetermined part of a subsequent material sheet is fed out.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an absorbent article in the form of a pants-type diaper or a sanitary panty starts from a flat blank which includes an elongated absorbent body (5) enclosed between two casing sheets (2, 9) which at opposing front and rear end parts of the absorbent body have side parts which extend laterally beyond the body on opposite sides thereof. The method includes the step of folding the blank about a transverse axis so that the end edges of the side parts lie edge-to-edge. The front and rear side parts of the blank which oppose one another in the folded state of the blank are joined together by a releasable and refastenable fastener (20).

Abstract: An absorbent product has a fluid permeable top sheet, a fluid impermeable backing sheet, and an absorbent core having an upper side, a bottom side, two longitudinally running sides and two laterally running sides. The product further has two longitudinally running barrier flaps at the longitudinally running sides of the absorbent core. The top sheet covers the upper side of the absorbent core. The top sheet, with the upper side of the absorbent core, also covers the longitudinally running sides of the absorbent core and part of the bottom side of the absorbent core, the top sheet extending between at least a portion of the bottom side of the absorbent core and the backing sheet. The top sheet is connected to the backing sheet at the bottom side of the absorbent core. The barrier flaps are connected to the backing sheet at the longitudinally running sides of the absorbent core.

Absorption bodies are applied on a continuous web of inner or outer coversheet material so that front portions and rear portions of adjacent diaper-pants blanks in a web are directed toward each other. A continuous web of outer or inner coversheet material is applied to and secured to the web with absorption bodies. Separate side panels connected to each other by a detachable and resealable connection are secured to side portions of the adjacent front portions or rear portions of the diaper pants. Each diaper-pants blank with side panels is cut from the web and folded about a transverse axis in the crotch with the front and rear edges lying against each other. The side panels of each blank are folded toward and secured to side portions of the rear or front portion which have no side panel.

Abstract: An absorbent article has a liquid pervious user-facing first side including a liquid-pervious surface layer composed of hydrophobic material, a second side opposite the first side and including a liquid-impervious surface layer, and an absorbent body enclosed between the two surface layers. The first side further exhibits a wetting region, which is the region of the first side intended to first be wetted by body fluid emitted to the article. The wetting region is constituted of a hydrophilic material. An outer edge portion of the wetting region is bordered by the hydrophobic material of the liquid pervious surface layer which is situated laterally outwardly of the wetting region.

Abstract: Absorbent article, such as a sanitary towel, with a stiffening element which is intended to contribute to the three-dimensional shape of the article during its use. The stiffening element is in a plane state before use of the article. The stiffening element has in the rear portion an elongate through-hole which extends in the longitudinal direction of the article and along the centre line of the article, as a result of which the article is during use provided, by virtue of lateral forces arising in the rear portion of the article, with a fold along the longitudinal direction of the article along the hole. The fold extends into the cleft between the buttocks of the wearer during use of the article and in this way stabilizes the article in position on the wearer.

Abstract: A process for manufacturing an absorbent article includes continuously feeding a first web (1) along a travelling path, said first web(1) including a first and a second opposing strip (9, 10) extending in the longitudinal direction and a first panel portion (11) located therebetween, continuously feeding a second web (2) along a travelling path, said second web (2) including a third and a fourth opposing strip (25, 26) and a second panel portion (20) located therebetween, cutting the first panel portion (11) into a number of first panels (14, 15), cutting the second panel portion (20) into a number of second panels (25, 26), forming a joint web (3) by placing the second web (2) over the first web (1), cutting the joint web (3) along attachment lines thereby forming the absorbent articles (4).

Abstract: An absorbent article such as a diaper or an incontinence protector, comprising at least one liquid storage region (2, 3) with high absorption capacity and at least one wicking layer (4) which overlaps at least a substantial part of the liquid storage region and which has greater liquid dispersion ability than the storage region. The wicking layer (4) is intended to disperse liquid collected locally in the article over the liquid storage region (2, 3). The aim of the invention is to improve liquid dispersion in absorbent articles. The invention is characterized in that liquid-impermeable portions (5, 6) are arranged at separate places in the article along sections of overlapping parts of the wicking layer (4) and the liquid storage region (2, 3) in order to prevent the transfer of liquid over said parts from the wicking layer to the storage region.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing interconnected sheets arranged in a stack, includes a top surface, a bottom surface and side surfaces connecting the top surface with the bottom surface. An opening is provided in at least one surface for the removal of sheets from the dispenser. The opening extends over essentially the whole diagonal extension of the stack of sheets. The stack of interconnected sheets are further arranged in the dispenser with an uppermost sheet placed near or in contact with the top surface and adjacent to the opening in the top surface and at least the edges of a lowermost sheet arranged on the bottom surface. A method of manufacturing the dispenser having an opening which extends over essentially the whole diagonal extension of the stack of sheets is also disclosed.

Abstract: The invention relates to a container for a stack of interfolded tissue sheets. The container has a generally planar bottom wall and a top wall and side walls connecting the bottom wall with the top wall. An opening is provided in the top wall for the removal of the tissue-sheets from the container, which opening is wider than the width of the tissue-sheets. The stack of interfolded tissue-sheets is placed in the container with a lowermost tissue-sheet placed on the bottom wall and an uppermost tissue-sheet placed near or in contact with the top wall and adjacent to the opening in the top wall. The opening is provided with a positioning feature having elongated, overlapping projections extending from opposite sides of the opening in order to allow the uppermost tissue-sheet to be dispensed, holding it substantially flat. The invention also relates to a method for producing the positioning feature.
