  • Publication number: 20110129783
Abstract: Gas burners on modern kitchen cooking appliances are subject to fluctuations caused by drafts, breezes, etc. These burners will require flame stabilization chambers or another suitable engineering solution to overcome this problem. This invention describes a flame stabilization chamber that is constructed exterior to the main burner chamber and covered by the burner cap. The flame stabilization chamber acts to prevent extinguishing of the flame due to a random draft or breeze, by providing additional captured flammable gas/air so as to maintain the flame.

  • Publication number: 20100279238
Abstract: What is shown is an improved gas burner assembly that is easily adapted to attach to a range top or cooktop, or the floor of the range and can draw air from either above the range top level by external vents or from below range top level through an open style mixing cup. The improved gas burner assembly uses a plurality of flame rings providing the user a wide variety of temperature settings starting from a low intensity simmer to high intensity cooking heat. A gas transfer channel provides a sustaining ignition source. The gas transfer channel has sustaining flame buttons interior to the burner body, and provides the initial ignition for the main flame rings. The gas transfer channel additionally has slots that provide additional sustaining flames for the main flame rings located on the exterior of the burner body.

  • Patent number: 7661954
Abstract: This invention describes an improved gas burner assembly that can be adapted to attach to a range top or cooktop, or the floor of the range and can draw air from either above the range top level by external vents or from below range top level through an open style mixing cup. The invention uses a plurality of different flame rings to provide the user a wide variety of temperature settings starting from a low intensity simmer to high intensity cooking heat. The gas burner also utilizes a cover plate of transparent or translucent, heat proof material that allows the user to observe the interior of the burner to see if any of the flame rings have been ignited. The cover plate also transfers heat from the internal flame rings to the cooking utensil which provides a more uniform transfer of heat to the utensil.

  • Patent number: 6779519
Abstract: A Infrared or mesh burner having a flat sheet (or cover sheet) of heat resistant glass or metal is positioned between the food to be cooked and the mesh burner. The cover sheet is held in position with brackets that have grooves that allow the cover sheet to be frictionally held in position in a generally vertical position. The brackets can have the ability to allow the cover sheet to be rotationally positioned providing a more directioned heat source.

  • Patent number: 6691735
Abstract: The current invention describes a pressure regulator for a gas burner that allows a consumer to make adjustments to the pressure regulator for differences in altitude as well as differences in the design and manufacturing tolerances of the pressure regulator from the manufacturer. Many traditional gas burners require a third party, with specialized equipment and training, to make corrective adjustments to the pressure to a gas burner after the burner is sold to the consumer. This pressure regulator incorporates a regulating curve into the pressure regulator, thus eliminating the need to remove the pressure regulator from the appliance and allowing the consumer himself to make the necessary adjustments to the burner without the assistance of a third party.

  • Patent number: 6607378
Abstract: This invention describes an ignition flame for a gas cooking burner that uses an ignition flame system to reignite a gas burner when the burner's flame is extinguished due to drafts or cross winds, when the gas burner is set on very low settings, even in the presence of a side wind.

  • Patent number: 6589046
Abstract: A multi piece gas burner assembly that is machined or cast and having a burner base that contains holes for primary air where the hole dimensions do not exceed the height of a jet mounted therein. The burner base is fastened onto an appliance. The burner head rests upon a boss on the burner base and has a tube that directs a flammable gas-air mixture from the burner base into a cavity created between the burner head and the burner cap. The burner cap rests upon the burner head and contains an outer edge that is turned downwards in order to allow fluid to drip away from the flame. A groove is cut into the burner cap just inside the down turned outer edge and provides a location for a support flame. The location of the groove prevents fluid and dust from collecting inside the groove. The groove captures the flammable gas-air mixture, which provides a constant ignition source for the gas-air mixture through slots in the burner cap when ignited.

  • Patent number: 6347577
Abstract: A rotisserie basket for cooking whole chickens, roasts, etc. without the need to pierce the food with a spit or rod as in other, conventional rotisserie baskets. The rotisserie basket consists of a pair of end plates secured in a parallel relationship by a set of parallel rods. A gate is hingeably attached to a hinge rod, and when closed, bears against a latch rod. The gate is secured into position by a latch that positions the latch rod in a “U” shaped portion of a centrally located rod. A leaf spring holds the food to be cooked onto the set of rods, securely positioning the food for cooking.
