  • Patent number: 7689380
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for sensing a position of a drive unit, in which the position can be sensed by an incremental signal transmitter having a first degree of accuracy which is described by a first travel increment or angle increment, and can be fed to a converter by which the first degree of accuracy of the sensing of the position can be reduced to a second degree of accuracy which is described by a second travel increment or angle increment.

  • Publication number: 20100013425
Abstract: A method is disclosed for automatically determining an effective mass of a door system that is driven by a motor and has at least one door. In this case a speed change accomplished during an acceleration movement is established, and a force variable, for example the motor current or an armature voltage, influencing the drive force of the motor is summed or integrated during the acceleration movement. The effective door mass is established from the sum or the integral of the force variable and the speed change, the summation or the integration of the force variable being performed over a number of operating system cycles of a control device assigned to the door system. Also described is a control device for automatically determining the effective door mass, having a memory for force variable profiles that is designed in such a way that mass can be established for different force variable profiles in the memory in conjunction with an unchanged program code.

  • Publication number: 20090009121
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for measuring a current that flows through a motor, in which a power switch that supplies the motor with electric energy is controlled by a control unit via a pulse width-modulation signal. The pulse width-modulation signal comprises a cycle of operation and the motor current is determined in a feeder to the power switch or a feeder to the motor. Since exactly one measured value representing the motor current is sampled in each cycle of operation, this permits the provision of a method for measuring the motor current, which determines the motor current in a more rapid, more cost-effective manner than in prior art. The method is used for the motor control of direct current motors.

  • Publication number: 20080191660
Abstract: An aspect of the invention is a method and a device for controlling a rotating field machine having several phase windings, which can be controlled by means of pulse width modulation, wherein a pulse width modulation controller is adapted in such a way that an individual winding of the phase windings of the rotating field machine is energized at a specifiable sampling time.

  • Publication number: 20080164958
Abstract: There is described a method and an apparatus for pulse width modulation with a predefined switching period having an adjustable ratio of the switch-on duration to the switch-off duration, in which a quantized signal is converted into a pulse-width-modulated signal and is generated in the form of a discrete pulse sequence of switch-on operations and switch-off operations with the predefined switching period, the switching edge for the switch-on duration and/or the switch-off duration being determined on the basis of the ratio of the switch-on duration to the switch-off duration.

  • Publication number: 20080047200
Abstract: The invention relates to a door drive for an automatic door having a door panel, a brushless electric motor for generating the drive power and a belt or chain running in the opening and closing direction of the door for transmitting the drive power to the door panel. The door position is affected by a door position controller. An actuation device for controlling and/or regulating the electric motor includes an angle sensor for generating an angular signal proportional to the angle of rotation of the motor and a commutation circuit, for electronically commutating the motor, where the angular signal from the angle sensor is fed. The angular signal is also used as an input variable to the door position controller. The angle sensor is, in particular, an absolute value angle sensor working on a magnetic principle and designed for the unambiguous sensing of one complete revolution of the electric motor.

  • Publication number: 20080047784
Abstract: A door operating mechanism for an automatic door is described, in particular for an automatic sliding and/or elevator door. A driving pinion or belt pulley for driving a belt or a chain which is used for transmitting the driving force generated by a motor to the door leaf is mounted to the shaft of the motor. The motor can be aligned with its shaft perpendicular to the opening and closing direction of the door. The door operating mechanism is of particularly compact design, even more so if the motor is an electronically commutated brushless synchronous motor and a magnetic angular encoder embodied as an absolute encoder and resolving 360° is used.

  • Patent number: 6582566
Abstract: Process and device for reducing an ignition voltage of power pulses in plasmas operated in a pulsed manner with long pulse-off times. The process includes generating a power pulsed plasma at a pulse duty factor, the pulse duty factor being a ratio of pulse-on time to pulse-off time, and at least before the beginning of the pulse-on time of the power pulses, producing charge carriers using an additional plasma discharge at a lower power than that of the power pulses. The device includes a vacuum chamber including at least one pump system, an arrangement for producing plasma, the arrangement including at least one anode and at least one cathode, an energy source connected to the cathode and the anode which can be pulsed in the frequency range of between approximately 10 Hz to approximately 1 MHZ, and a mechanism for one of producing an additional plasma discharge.
