  • Patent number: 7378986
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for radio-based issuing of warnings of hazards to the driver of a vehicle having a data receiver, the data receiver receives data from at least one data transmitter of at least one other vehicle, and evaluates the received data. The received data comprising information about the position, speed and direction of travel of the transmitting vehicle. The approach speed between the receiving vehicle and transmitting vehicle are determined in order to evaluate the received data in the receiving vehicle. According to the invention, in order to evaluate the received data in the receiving vehicle, the distance between the transmitting vehicle and the receiving vehicle is determined, and it is determined whether information is output to the driver, based on the distance between the transmitting vehicle and receiving vehicle, and based on the approach speed between the transmitting vehicle and receiving vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20060267793
Abstract: A display/indication and indication method for issuing danger warnings, in particular in a motor vehicle, with determination of an urgency level of the danger warning to be issued. One of a plurality of predefined display/indication modes is selected as a function of the determined urgency level and the danger warning is indicated with the selected display/indication mode. At least one of the display/indication modes includes a voice output and at least one further display/indication type which warns about the danger, with only the preferably single voice output containing information about the determined urgency level.

  • Publication number: 20060229812
Abstract: In a radio-based device for issuing hazard warnings to the driver of a vehicle a data receiver situated on board the vehicle receives hazard data from a data transmitter of at least one other vehicle, and evaluates the received data in a computer unit. The received data includes information about the position, speed and direction of travel of the transmitting vehicle. According to the invention, from the received data of the transmitting vehicle and from information relating to the position, speed and direction of travel data of the receiving vehicle, a relevance measure is determined in the receiving vehicle, which relates to whether the transmitting vehicle is located on a section of road lying ahead of the receiving vehicle. A chronological profile of the relevance measure is determined by repeatedly determining the relevance measure.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for supporting the driver of a vehicle during an emergency braking process in order to prevent the vehicle from colliding with an object which is located in a detection zone in front of the vehicle in the direction of travel, in particular a preceding vehicle. In the method according to the invention braking means for braking the vehicle (50) are actuated independently of the driver if a predefined emergency braking condition is met and if it is determined that the driver wishes to carry out the emergency braking process, emergency braking information to the driver of the vehicle (50) being issued when the emergency braking condition is met.

  • Publication number: 20050042578
Abstract: A cascaded overall actuating system for a vehicle motion simulator is divided into an actuating system for small, high-frequency movements and an actuating system for large, low-frequency movements. A manipulator for implementing the low-frequency excitations is itself composed as a cascaded system of a rotary plate, a six-axle movement unit and a horizontal displacement device. To simulate movements which are as low in frequency as possible, the horizontal displacement device spans, as the actuator stage which is arranged at the lowest point in the cascade, a large movement area of 40 m×40 m. The six-axle movement unit with rotary plate and high-frequency actuating system is mounted on a carrier carriage which is supported in a freely displaceable fashion on a planar base surface bounded by the displacement paths of the horizontal displacement device and is pulled and/or pushed with respect to this base surface by means of the horizontal displacement device.

  • Patent number: 6308959
Abstract: An elastic sealing element in the form of bellows, which is used to seal the contact surface between at least two components movable in relation to one another is described, which has low-elasticity contact zones as well as a deformation zone whose elasticity is higher than that of the contact zones, wherein the said deformation zone defines a chamber for accommodating lubricants on its inner side facing the movable components. An overpressure relief means (14) is arranged at least in the area of one of the two low-elasticity contact zones (6 or 7). The overpressure relief means (14) has at least one relief opening (15) connecting the lubricant chamber (11) with the outside of the sealing element (1) and a closing element (16) covering the said relief opening. The closing element (16) is in turn made in one piece with the sealing element (1) and closes the relief opening (15) up to an overpressure limit in the lubricant chamber (11) due to the intrinsic elasticity of the material of the sealing element.
