  • Publication number: 20100260433
Abstract: A system and method for scaling images are provided. An upscaling algorithm or function is employed that increases the size of an image and then filters the upscaled image to remove aliasing artifacts. The system and method provides for acquiring an image of a first size, detecting the geometry of the image, scaling the image to a second size, and filtering the scaled image with at least one filter based on the detected geometry. During the filtering process, the edges of objects in the upscaled image are detected and different filter frequency responses are provided for the detected edges. Providing different filter frequency responses for the detected edges preserves more details for line images.

  • Patent number: 7792940
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for remotely rebooting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communication devices. In general, the apparatus remotely selects VoIP communication devices connected to a network, reboots the selected devices, and evaluates the status of each device. A processor allows a user to select VoIP communication devices connected to the network and receives inputs pertaining to the reboot operation, including a time input and search criteria. The processor communicates with the designated VoIP communication devices over a packet-switching network to instruct the devices to reboot and monitors each device. In this way, multiple VoIP communication devices may be rebooted from a remote location, and problems or issues that arise during the reboot process may be identified and addressed. An associated method and computer program product are also provided for remotely rebooting VoIP communication devices.

Abstract: The invention provides a method for automated training of a plurality of artificial neural networks for phoneme recognition using training data, wherein the training data comprises speech signals subdivided into frames, each frame associated with a phoneme label, wherein the phoneme label indicates a phoneme associated with the frame. A sequence of frames from the training data are provided, wherein the number of frames in the sequence of frames is at least equal to the number of artificial neural networks. Each of the artificial neural networks is assigned a different subsequence of the provided sequence, wherein each subsequence comprises a predetermined number of frames. A common phoneme label for the sequence of frames is determined based on the phoneme labels of one or more frames of one or more subsequences of the provided sequence. • Patent number: 7739915
Abstract: A diaphragm is provided that includes a plurality of zonal portions that define reinforced and non-reinforced areas of the diaphragm. A first zonal portion extends from a marginal edge portion toward a central portion and is formed of a fabric material. A second zonal portion extends from the first zonal portion toward the central portion and is formed of an elastomer. A third zonal portion defines the central portion and is formed of a fabric material. The combination of reinforced and non-reinforced portions provides for a decrease in the radial tension (spring rate) of the diaphragm and helps prevent undesired changes to the flow control valve flow setpoint.

  • Publication number: 20100140078
Abstract: The present invention provides a roll to roll system and a method to sputter deposit various conductive films on a back surface and a front surface of a continuous substrate to form protected base structures for Group IBIIIAVIA thin film solar cells. In one embodiment of the invention, a back protection film is sputter deposited onto the entire back side of the substrate in a first deposition station without transferring heat from the substrate. Next, a first front film is sputter deposited in a second deposition station to partially cover the front side of the substrate while heat is transferred from substrate by a cooling surface of a cooling mechanism in the second deposition station. The second film does not cover the edges of the substrate to avoid contaminating the cooling surface with the depositing material. Other embodiments are directed to specifics regarding the depositing of these films, adding other films, and a system for depositing the films.
