  • Publication number: 20100130926
Abstract: A multilayer balloon catheter is formed to have an inner layer and an outer layer, where the outer layer is adapted to resist shredding and premature rupture. The outer layer is formed of a material having a glass transition temperature that is lower than the transition or melting temperature of the inner layer. By forming the balloon on a mold at a temperature between the glass transition temperature of the outer layer and the glass transition or melting temperature of the inner layer, the outer layer will undergo a thermal relaxation that will alleviate some of the axial orientation of the polymer chains that develop during the formation of the multilayer balloon. This relaxation leads to a resistance to shredding when the balloon is expanded during operation.

  • Publication number: 20100131487
Abstract: URL rewriting is a common technique for allowing users to interact with internet resources using easy to remember and search engine friendly URLs. When URL rewriting involves conditions derived for sources other than the URL, inconsistencies in HTTP kernel cache and HTTP user output cache may arise. Methods and a system for rewriting a URL while preserving cache integrity are disclosed herein. Conditions used by a rule set to rewrite a URL may be determined as cache friendly conditions or cache unfriendly conditions. If cache unfriendly conditions exist, the HTTP kernel cache is disabled and the HTTP user output cache is varied based upon a key. If no cache unfriendly conditions exist, then the HTTP kernel cache is not disabled and the HTTP user output cache is not varied. A rule set is applied to the URL and a URL rewrite is performed to create a rewritten URL.

  • Publication number: 20100116498
Abstract: Of the many methods provided herein, one method includes a method of treating an interval of a subterranean formation having a permeability that varies comprising: identifying the interval to be treated; introducing a relative-permeability modifier into the interval, wherein the relative-permeability modifier modifies the interval to have a more uniform effective permeability to water, wherein the relative permeability modifier comprises a water-soluble polymer; and introducing a sealant into the interval, wherein the more uniform effective permeability of the interval allows for a more uniform treatment of the interval by the than would be allowed without treatment of the interval with the relative-permeability modifier.

  • Publication number: 20100119173
Abstract: A system and method of the present disclosure provides a block, or region, based error diffusion process for reducing artifacts in images. The system and method allows for the generation and the control of the spatial frequency of a masking signal, e.g., noise, in a way that it can be easily passed through the compression process. The system and method provides for selecting a block size of pixels of the image, adding a masking signal to the image, determining a quantization error for at least one block in the image, and distributing the quantization error to neighboring blocks in the image to mask artifacts in the image. An output image is then encoded with a compression function.

  • Patent number: 7716386
Abstract: Embodiments of this invention comprise a modular, scalable architecture for building a variety of Layer 2/3/4+ Ethernet products and devices. Such devices comprise of a set modules. The invention provides a set of rules to handle such modules. The rules are controlled by the architectural component named card manager. The card manager uses a protocol to discover the modules that are entering or leaving the system/device. The protocol's data provides a unique way of identifying the modules that belong to the system.
