Patent number: 11896963Abstract: A process for upgrading a hydrocarbon feed includes contacting the hydrocarbon feed with steam in the presence of a cracking catalyst at reaction conditions sufficient to cause at least a portion of hydrocarbons in the hydrocarbon feed to undergo one or more cracking reactions to produce a steam catalytic cracking effluent comprising light olefins, light aromatic compounds, or both. The cracking catalyst is hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite. The hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite is made by providing a starting ZSM-5 zeolite, disintegrating the a portion of the starting ZSM-5 in the presence of a surfactant using sodium hydroxide, and then recrystallizing the zeolite constituents in the presence of the surfactant to produce recrystallized ZSM-5 zeolite. The recrystallized ZSM-5 zeolite is then recovered and calcined to produce the hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2022Date of Patent: February 13, 2024Assignee: Saudi Arabian Oil CompanyInventors: Aaron Chi Akah, Veera Venkata Ramakrishna Tammana

Patent number: 11820948Abstract: A process for upgrading crude oil through steam enhanced catalytic cracking includes contacting crude oil with steam and a cracking catalyst at a mass ratio of steam to crude oil of 0.2-1. The cracking catalyst is a hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite impregnated with phosphorous, cerium, lanthanum, and iron. Contacting the crude oil with steam and the cracking catalyst cracks a portion of the crude oil to produce light olefins, light aromatic compounds, or both. The cracking catalyst is prepared by partially disintegrating a starting ZSM-5 zeolite in a first mixture comprising sodium hydroxide and a surfactant and, after the disintegrating, recrystallizing zeolite constituents in the presence of the surfactant to produce a recrystallized ZSM-5 zeolite having a hierarchical pore structure. The recrystallized ZSM-5 zeolite is recovered and calcined to produce the hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite, which is then impregnated with the phosphorous, lanthanum, cerium, and iron.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2022Date of Patent: November 21, 2023Assignee: Saudi Arabian Oil CompanyInventors: Aaron Chi Akah, Veera Venkata Ramakrishna Tammana

Patent number: 11781773Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to method and system for maximizing space utilization in a building. Due to current pandemic scenario many organizations eventually need to plan for the return of employees to office space ensuring biosafety. The challenge of maximizing the office space utilization ensuring occupants biosafety and comfort thereby minimizing HVAC energy consumption is necessary. The method utilizes two heuristic approaches for determining maximum allowable occupants placement in the open plan space using an optimal occupant placement technique. This minimizes the HVAC energy if the actual count is lesser than the possible maximum occupants can be placed which further optimizes energy using a joint actuator control technique. Additionally, the proposed two heuristic approaches improve space utilization for the infection rate ensuring bio safety.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2021Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES LIMITEDInventors: Praveen Manoharan, Srinarayana Nagarathinam, Arunchandar Vasan, Venkata Ramakrishna Padullaparthi

Patent number: 11609156Abstract: Traditionally, benchmarking of asset performance involves comparing actual performance with ideal values that correspond to test conditions which may not be realized in practice leading to inappropriate ranking of the assets. Systems and methods of the present disclosure use condition-aware reference curves for estimating the maximum possible operating efficiencies (under specific operating conditions) instead of the theoretical maximum efficiencies. The reference curves are received from the manufacturer or obtained from on-site test results. Benchmarking is then performed based on two dimensions, viz., an inter-asset metric and an intra-asset metric that are analogous to the first law and second law of thermodynamics respectively. The two-dimensional benchmarking then helps in identifying inefficient assets that may be analyzed further for finding the root cause.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2019Date of Patent: March 21, 2023Assignee: TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES LIMITEDInventors: Srinarayana Nagarathinam, Venkata Ramakrishna P, Arunchandar Vasan, Venkatesh Sarangan, Anand Sivasubramaniam

Patent number: 11537957Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and a system for estimating capacity and usage pattern of behind-the-meter energy storage in electric networks. Conventional techniques on estimating an effective capacity of behind-the-meter energy storage of a consumer, in presence of distributed energy generation units is limited, computationally intensive and provide inaccurate prediction. The present disclosure provides an accurate estimate of the effective capacity and usage pattern of behind-the-meter energy storage of a target consumer utilizing data samples received from a utility in presence of one or more distributed energy generation units, using an energy balance equation with less computation and accurate prediction. Based on accurate estimation of the effective capacity and usage pattern, the utility may plan for proper infrastructure to meet power demands of the consumers.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2020Date of Patent: December 27, 2022Assignee: TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES LIMITEDInventors: Venkata Ramakrishna Padullaparthi, Venkatesh Sarangan, Anand Sivasubramaniam, Anindya Pradhan
