  • Publication number: 20150166453
Abstract: Systems and methods for liquid-phase oxidation of an aromatic feedstock containing at least one oxidizable aromatic compound may incorporate an oxidation reactor, a separation apparatus in fluidic communication with the oxidation reactor, a solids treatment unit, and a product recovery unit in fluidic communication with the separation apparatus. The oxidation reactor may conduct liquid-phase oxidation of the oxidizable aromatic compound in the aromatic feedstock in the presence of a manganate salt to form a slurry containing liquid product and solid manganese dioxide. The separation apparatus may accept the slurry from the oxidation reactor and separate the liquid component from the solid component. The solids treatment unit accepts the solid component from the separation apparatus, treats the solid component with a basic liquid to oxidize the manganese dioxide in the solid component and form a regenerated manganate salt, which may be recycled back to the oxidation reactor.

  • Publication number: 20140025354
Abstract: A method and system are provided for determining at least one combined forecast value of non-conventional energy resources. An Input/output Interface receives an adaptively selected historical dataset and a current dataset from one or more predictive forecast models and/or measurements. An adaptive forecast module generates one or more variants of machine learning models to model the performance of the one or more predictive forecast models by training the one or more variants of machine learning models on the historical dataset. The adaptive forecast module correlates the current dataset with the historical dataset to adaptively obtain a filtered historical dataset. The adaptive forecast module evaluates the one or more variants of machine learning models on the filtered historical dataset. The adaptive forecast module derives a statistical model to determine the at least one combined forecast value by combining outputs obtained based on the evaluation.

  • Publication number: 20110129889
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for production of ethanol from lignocellulosic material. Lignocellulosic material treated with a dicarboxylic acid, preferably with oxalic acid, separating a hemicellulosic fraction to ferment pentose sugar. The lignin is dissolved in alkali, preferably with NaOH, separating a cellulose fraction for further enzymatic treatment with one or more than one cellulytic enzymes capable of hydrolyzing cellulose. The enzyme hydrolyasate is further subjected to fermentation in the presence of ethanol-producing yeast, preferably Sacchoromyces cerevisiae. • Publication number: 20110000823
Abstract: The process of the present invention is directed to the desulfurization of a sulfur-containing hydrocarbon stream with a membrane contactor, where sulfur compounds are concentrated in a sulfur-rich stream on a permeate side of the membrane using an extractive liquid, and a sulfur-lean stream is recovered as a retentate. The sulfur-rich stream, which has a small volume relative to the original hydrocarbon stream, is conveyed to a recovery zone to recover extractive liquid, and the remaining hydrocarbon stream having an increased concentration of sulfur compounds is passed to a downstream desulfurization apparatus or system, such as a hydrotreating system, to recover the hydrocarbons associated with the organosulfur compounds.

  • Patent number: 7640229
Abstract: A method for processing a trigger are described. The trigger is associated with a subject table in a relational database and defines a triggering statement and one or more triggered actions. The method includes determining that a triggering statement of a trigger will execute on a subject table row of a subject table and requesting a transition table in response to determining that the triggering statement will execute. The transition table includes a transition table row. The transition table row includes a first value associated with the subject table row and a second value associated with the subject table row. The method further includes reading the transition table row from the transition table and identifying a processing unit to receive the transition table row and a triggered action of the trigger. The method also includes transmitting the transition table row and the triggered action to the identified processing unit to be processed.
