    Abstract: A system includes a processor configured to detect a wireless signature indicating an animal presence within a predefined proximity to a vehicle. The processor is also configured to issue an alert to vehicle occupants responsive to the wireless signature detection, the alert varying based on detected signal strength. The wireless signature may be transmitted from a BLE or RFID device provided to an animal affixed to a collar, for example, or from an RFID chip embedded in an animal.

    Abstract: According to an embodiment of the invention, there is provided a method of increasing biomass and lipid content in a micro-organism comprising cloning in a vector an exogenous gene sequence selected from the group comprising Atg1 gene, Atg6 gene, and Atg8 gene sequence wherein the sequence is codon optimized for said micro-organism, for inducing autophagy; introducing the vector containing the gene into the genome of the micro-organism to yield a genetically modified micro-organism; and growing the genetically modified micro-organism in suitable medium. According to another embodiment of the invention there is provided a method of increasing biomass and lipid content in a micro-organism exposed to stress, comprising treating the microorganism with an autophagy inducing agent.

    Abstract: Each I/O channel between a controller and one or more memory dice of a memory device has a driver on one end and a receiver at the other end. The receiver is optionally terminated with a pseudo open-drain (“POD”) termination instead of the conventional center-tapped (“CTT”) termination to save energy. During a read operation, data is driven from the memory die to a POD terminated receiver circuit in the controller. With POD termination, the degradation in performance due to the more non-linear driver in the memory die, fabricated for example in the NAND technology processing, is alleviated by an adaptive reference voltage level adjustment in the receiver circuit of the controller. Optionally, the receiver circuit of a memory die is also provided with an adaptive reference level adjustment.
