Abstract: A particle detection system uses a reflective optic comprising a curved surface to detect high angle scattered light generated by a particle in a liquid medium, when a laser beam is incident on the particle. When the particles transit the laser beam, light is scattered in all directions and is described by MIE scattering theory for particles about the size of the wavelength of light and larger or Rayleigh Scattering when the particles are smaller than the wavelength of light. By using the reflective optic, the scattered light can be detected over angles that are greater than normally obtainable.

Abstract: The present invention provides a semiconductor structure in which different types of devices are located upon a specific crystal orientation of a hybrid substrate that enhances the performance of each type of device. In the semiconductor structure of the present invention, a dual trench isolation scheme is employed whereby a first trench isolation region of a first depth isolates devices of different polarity from each other, while second trench isolation regions of a second depth, which is shallower than the first depth, are used to isolate devices of the same polarity from each other. The present invention further provides a dual trench semiconductor structure in which pFETs are located on a (110) crystallographic plane, while nFETs are located on a (100) crystallographic plane. In accordance with the present invention, the devices of different polarity, i.e., nFETs and pFETs, are bulk-like devices.

Abstract: Pages are provided in response to a request from a browser received by a server. The server obtains an adapted page, based on a template page, from a display infrastructure. The display infrastructure uses a template page identifier obtained from a resolution component. The resolution component obtains template page identifiers by matching attributes relating to the page request with attributes associated with template page identifiers stored in a database. The template page identifiers are provided based on the best match of the template page attributes and the page request attributes, with default values being used and a defined ranking being used where multiple matched template pages exist.

Abstract: The present invention provides a semiconductor material that has enhanced electron and hole mobilities that comprises a Si-containing layer having a <110> crystal orientation and a biaxial compressive strain. The term “biaxial compressive stress” is used herein to describe the net stress caused by longitudinal compressive stress and lateral stress that is induced upon the Si-containing layer during the manufacturing of the semiconductor material. Other aspect of the present invention relates to a method of forming the semiconductor material of the present invention. The method of the present invention includes the steps of providing a silicon-containing <110> layer; and creating a biaxial strain in the silicon-containing <110> layer.

Abstract: There is provided a method, system and apparatus for managing access to gift registry resources in a service oriented architecture (SOA) architected commerce system. In this regard, a commerce system that has been configured according to an exemplary aspect of the invention can include a gift registry including a set of gift registry resources and business context services logic coupled to authentication logic. The business context services logic can be configured to issue contexts to requesting users for interacting with the gift registry. The gift registry, in turn, can moderate access to the gift registry resources according to the contexts.

Abstract: Systems and methods for use with an optical communication beam are disclosed. The system allows the beam of light to operate at an adequate power level that provides a robust optical link while minimizing any safety risk to humans. The system calibrates and controls the gain for an avalanche photodiode detector (APD). A detector circuit is used to calibrate the APD. Once calibrated, the detector circuit further provides an electrical bias to the APD to process or condition the electrical signal to produce a detector output. The systems and methods disclosed herein attenuate the power level of an incoming communication beam to prevent oversaturation of an APD. The system further provides an alignment signal, which is effective over a wide dynamic range of incoming power levels.

Abstract: An apparatus for displaying an image on at least two display panels serves as an interface between an image source and a display device having at least two display panels and includes a memory. One embodiment includes an image input module for storing first line portions in a first contiguous portion of the memory, and second line portions in a second contiguous portion of the memory, wherein the first and second memory portions are spaced apart by a third portion of the memory. In another embodiment, the apparatus includes a transfer module for transferring first line portions from a first contiguous portion of the memory for display on a first one of the display panels, and for transferring second line portions from a second contiguous portion of the memory for display on a second one of the display panels before reading the next line.

A set of contexts can be selected to adapt the existing ones of the commerce system components and the created components to support the set of required business processes for the proposed solution. Finally, an activity for the proposed solution can be created utilizing the selected set of contexts.

Abstract: An integrated semiconductor structure having different types of complementary metal oxide semiconductor devices (CMOS), i.e., PFETs and NFETs, located atop a semiconductor substrate, wherein each CMOS device is fabricated such that the current flow for each device is optimal is provided. Specifically, the structure includes a semiconductor substrate that has a (110) surface orientation and a notch pointing in a <001> direction of current flow; and at least one PFET and at least one NFET located on the semiconductor substrate. The at least one PFET has a current flow in a <110> direction and the at least one NFET has a current flow in a <100> direction. The <110> direction is perpendicular to the <100> direction. A method of fabricating such as integrated semiconductor structure is also provided.

Abstract: Methods of fabricating a semiconductor device including a dual-hybrid liner in which an underlying silicide layer is protected from photoresist stripping chemicals by using a hard mask as a pattern during etching, rather than using a photoresist. The hard mask prevents exposure of a silicide layer to photoresist stripping chemicals and provides very good lateral dimension control such that the two nitride liners are well aligned.

The SOA commerce system of the present invention can include a component logic container exposing an interface to one or more accessing clients and having a configuration for hosting one or more business components. The graphics controller includes a memory, a fetching module and a window translating module. The memory stores at least a portion of the image data corresponding to a first window of image data received by the graphics controller from the host. The fetching module first fetches the first portion of the image data to produce at least part of a first data stream. The first data stream is in a parallel, clocked relation to a second data stream of the image data corresponding to a second window of image data received by the graphics controller from the host. The first and second data streams are provided to the graphics display device for display as multiple windows thereon.

Abstract: A technique is provided to generally provide user support across multiple accounts by allowing a single person or user to represent multiple organizations. An embodiment may typically provide support for a user to act on behalf of an account in the form of a virtual persona and also to provide the ability to manage the assignment of access rights allowing only prescribed privileged users to act on behalf of an account. This may then be accomplished through registration of a single identity for the user or person on the system, while allowing that person to then select the desired organization to represent for a particular session (which will be stored in the user's session).

A rapid thermal chemical vapor deposition (RTCVD) film produced by reacting a compound containing silicon, nitrogen and carbon (such as bis-tertiary butyl amino silane (BTBAS)) with NH3 can provide advantageous properties, such as high stress and excellent performance in an etch-stop application. An ammonia-treated BTBAS film is particularly excellent in providing a high-stress property, and further having maintainability of that high-stress property over repeated annealing.

Abstract: A system and method for continuously tracing transfer rectangles for performing image data transfers includes a display controller with control logic, a rectangle module, and a coordinates module. The rectangle module detects write operations to on-screen data in a video memory, and then updates a primary transfer rectangle during a normal mode to include pixel data from the foregoing write operations. The coordinates module stores the primary transfer rectangle for performing a current transfer operation. The coordinates module enters a pause mode before initiating the current transfer operation, and retains the primary transfer rectangle during the pause mode. The coordinate module also stores a secondary transfer rectangle formed during the pause mode by detecting the foregoing write operations. The controller logic instructs the coordinates module to resume the normal mode after the current transfer operation concludes.

Next, a criteria clause for the query is generated, with the criteria clause comprising input criteria related to the query, additional criteria specified against the query, and generated criteria based on a joint relationship. Next a source clause utilizing elements in the database accessed by the query is generated. A database traversal system and method is provided. The method identifies all tables directly accessible by each table and creates a data structure comprising an entry for each table. The entry comprises an identification field for each table and a link field identifying all tables directly accessible by each table. The data structure is traversed and an optimum path of the traversal paths utilizing data obtained from traversing the data structure is identified.
