  • Publication number: 20210263216
Abstract: An integrated photonics device that emits light out towards a measured sample value is disclosed. The device can include a discrete optical unit that attaches to a supporting layer. The discrete optical unit can include mirror(s), optics, detector array(s), and traces. The supporting layer can include one or more cavities having facet walls. Light emitter(s) can emit light that propagate through waveguide(s). The emitted light can exit the waveguide(s) (via termination point(s)), enter the one or more cavities at the facet walls, and be received by receiving facets of the discrete optical unit. The mirror(s) of the discrete optical unit can redirect the received light towards collimating optics, which can direct the light out of the device through the system interface. The discrete optical unit can be formed separately from the supporting layer or bonded to the supporting layer after the mirror, optics, detector arrays, and traces are formed.

  • Publication number: 20210266803
Abstract: The exemplary embodiments relate to inter-radio access technology (iRAT) signaling reduction for a user equipment (UE). The UE may identify an inter-radio access technology (iRAT) event and determine that a predetermined condition is satisfied. The predetermined condition may be based on identifying a predetermined number of iRAT events within a predetermined time window. The UE may then implement a mechanism for iRAT signaling reduction based on the predetermined condition.

  • Publication number: 20210263932
Abstract: Methods of machine learning for system deployments without performance regressions are performed by systems and devices. A performance safeguard system is used to design pre-production experiments for determining the production readiness of learned models based on a pre-production budget by leveraging big data processing infrastructure and deploying a large set of learned or optimized models for its query optimizer. A pipeline for learning and training differentiates the impact of query plans with and without the learned or optimized models, selects plan differences that are likely to lead to most dramatic performance difference, runs a constrained set of pre-production experiments to empirically observe the runtime performance, and finally picks the models that are expected to lead to consistently improved performance for deployment. The performance safeguard system enables safe deployment not just for learned or optimized models but also for additional of other ML-for-Systems features.

  • Publication number: 20210264409
Abstract: Embodiments provide methods and systems of enabling an electronic payment from a merchant device using customer credential when a customer does not have mobile device or card with him. The customer enters customer credential, associated with a customer wallet, on a merchant wallet application accessible in the merchant device. The customer credential and merchant credential are transmitted to a server system associated with a payment network. The server system validates the customer credential, generates and transmits a pull payment request to a customer wallet server for approval of the payment request for transferring funds from customer wallet to the merchant wallet. After the approval, the server system transmits the successful payment response to the merchant device.

  • Patent number: 11100894
Abstract: In some implementations, a mobile computing device may participate in the calibration of an output signal of a media device. This calibration process includes storing device-specific calibration data which is related to properties of a light sensor of the mobile device. The mobile device then detects of properties of light emitted by the display device during a presentation to obtain sensor values related to light emitted by the display device during the presentation. The calibration process may also ensure that the mobile device is proximate to the display device prior to obtaining the sensor values. The collected sensor values are adjusted using device-specific calibration data stored to the mobile device to normalize the sensor values relative to a baseline. These normalized sensor values are sent to the media device for use in adjusting the output signal based on the normalized sensor values.

  • Patent number: 11102208
Abstract: A computer security system provides for auto-populating process-connection whitelists using process wildcarding and connection wildcarding. Process wildcarding involves grouping process-connection requests together in a process* group without regard to the presence of distinct process arguments; in contrast, some process-connection requests may be separated both by process and by argument into process?argument groups. The process-connection requests may then be analyzed on a group-by-group basis to determine which processes can be mapped to wildcarded connection in a respective process-connection whitelist.

  • Patent number: 11101811
Abstract: A method for testing an A/D converter with a built-in diagnostic circuit with a user supplied variable input voltage includes generating a charge by a binary-weighted capacitor array responsive to an external voltage and a user specified code. The method further includes applying the charge to a first input of a voltage comparator and applying a bias voltage to a second input of the voltage comparator, and generating, by the voltage comparator, a comparison voltage responsive to the applied charge and the bias voltage. The method also includes applying the comparison voltage to an input of a successive approximation register and generating, by the successive approximation register, an approximate digital code responsive to the comparison voltage. The method also includes determining if at least one bit of the approximate digital code fails to toggle independent of adjacent bits.

  • Patent number: 11100415
Abstract: The invention is ontology-based architecture for performing semantic data mining for insights. The major components of the architecture are illustrated using Network Ontology (NO), an ontology generated for the network domain for delivering improved network management. In addition, algorithms for summarizing performance profiles in the form of rank tables and for extracting insight rules (concrete action plan) from the rank tables are presented. By using this approach, an actionable plan for assisting decision maker can be obtained, as domain knowledge is incorporated in the system. Experimental results on a network dataset show that this model provides an optimal action plan for a network to improve its performance by encoding data-driven rules into the ontology and suggesting changes to its current network configuration.

  • Patent number: 11101389
Abstract: The present disclosure describes aspects of a dual-use semiconductor device for solar power and data storage. In some aspects, a dual-use semiconductor device is selectively configured to generate power by coupling regions having a same type of doping to form a PN junction by which power is generated in response to light. The generated power may be provided to a load coupled to contacts (e.g., front and backside contacts) of the dual-use semiconductor device. The dual-use semiconductor device is also selectively configurable for data storage by decoupling the regions of the same type of doping to provide respective data storage access terminals for accessing (e.g., writing or reading) a bit value that is stored as a level of charge by a floating-gate structure of the dual-use semiconductor device. By so doing, solar power arrays implemented with dual-use semiconductor devices may also provide data storage functionality.

  • Patent number: 11100644
Abstract: Systems and methods for eye image segmentation and image quality estimation are disclosed. In one aspect, after receiving an eye image, a device such as an augmented reality device can process the eye image using a convolutional neural network with a merged architecture to generate both a segmented eye image and a quality estimation of the eye image. The segmented eye image can include a background region, a sclera region, an iris region, or a pupil region. In another aspect, a convolutional neural network with a merged architecture can be trained for eye image segmentation and image quality estimation. In yet another aspect, the device can use the segmented eye image to determine eye contours such as a pupil contour and an iris contour. The device can use the eye contours to create a polar image of the iris region for computing an iris code or biometric authentication.

  • Patent number: 11100046
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for selectively storing network traffic data are described. Network traffic is stored according to a first packet filtering policy in a first repository. The stored network traffic is scanned in the first repository according to a second packet filtering policy to identify a subset of network traffic for archiving. The identified subset of network traffic identified by the second packet filtering policy are forensically interesting packets concerning a security issue. The identified subset of network traffic from the first repository is then stored in a second repository.

  • Patent number: 11100146
Abstract: Technologies are provided for managing computer system resources using natural language statements. A natural language statement can be received from a user computing device by a management service. The natural language statement can be analyzed to identify an executable command, and the command can be executed against one or more system resources. If the system resources are located in separate computing environments, different operations can be used to target the system resources in the separate computing environments. A script repository can be searched to identify an executable script containing the command referenced by the received natural language statement. A message can be transmitted to the user device, recommending execution of the identified script. In a different or further embodiment, if a given user is not authorized to execute a given command or script, a request for authorization can be sent to a supervisor of the given user.
