  • Patent number: 8219397
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for autonomously transcribing and building tagging data of a conversation. A corpus processing agent monitors a conversation and utilizes a speech recognition agent to identify the spoken languages, speakers, and emotional patterns of speakers of the conversation. While monitoring the conversation, the corpus processing agent determines emotional patterns by monitoring voice modulation of the speakers and evaluating the context of the conversation. When the conversation is complete, the corpus processing agent determines synonyms and paraphrases of spoken words and phrases of the conversation taking into consideration any localized dialect of the speakers. Additionally, metadata of the conversation is created and stored in a link database, for comparison with other processed conversations. A corpus, a transcription of the conversation containing metadata links, is then created.

  • Publication number: 20120095336
Abstract: A holding structure holds a biopsy needle and a HIFU transducer to allow smooth and accurate delivery of the HIFU beam at the interface of the liver, where bleeding will occur. This manipulator structure performs the biopsy and HIFU through the percutaneous approach. In addition, the procedure is imaged by an imaging ultrasound probe. The imaging ultrasound probe can track the needle entry site even when needle has been removed. The HIFU transducer fires a short pulse of HIFU in the needle tract to cause coagulation and stop bleeding.

  • Patent number: 7836132
Abstract: A delivery confirmation is provided to the sender of an e-mail message. When the e-mail message is composed, a link, such as a hyperlink, is inserted into the e-mail message, such as in the body or header. The link can include information such as a message identifier and identifiers of the sender and the recipient, which are provided as a query string of the link, while a host field of the link includes the address of an e-mail/web server. When the recipient receives the e-mail message and opens it, the link is displayed along with text that instructs the user to use the link to confirm delivery. The confirmation can include displaying indicia for the e-mail message in a folder view on an interface of the sender, or sending a confirmation e-mail message to the sender, for instance. Voting by e-mail can also be provided.

  • Publication number: 20100016717
Abstract: The prostate gland or other region of interest is stimulated with laser light, resulting in ultrasound waves (photoacoustic effect) which are focused by an acoustic lens and captured by a specific 1- or 2D sensor array and subsequently displayed as a C-scan on a computer screen. The amplitude of the ultrasound waves generated by laser stimulation is proportional to the optical absorption of the tissue element at that spatial location. Variability in tissue absorption results in C-scan image contrast. The photoacoustic imaging is combined with an ultrasound C-scan image produced with a plane ultrasound wave applied to the region of interest.

  • Publication number: 20090319541
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for efficiently comparing multiple columns of a row of a relational database to an incoming record. A computer creates a cryptographic sum for columns of a row of the relational database. The cryptographic sum is stored as a hidden column in the relational database. Logic may compare the cryptographic sum with an incoming cryptographic sum of entries in an incoming record. Logic may then determine if the incoming cryptographic sums differ from the corresponding cryptographic sums of rows of data of the relational database. When the two cryptographic sums are identical, the data of the incoming record is disregarded as an identical record that already exists. An entry of the incoming record may be added to the target table or updated within an existing record of the relational database when the cryptographic sum and the incoming cryptographic sum of that entry differ.

  • Publication number: 20080234558
Abstract: The invention provides method and systems for performing clinical assessment of a patient that includes determining of a base clinical assessment for the patient by generating information on a clinical rating scale. At least one objective signal is recorded, and each objective signal involves an indicator corresponding to the state of the patient or the state of the patient's environment. Each objective signal is analyzed for generating a corresponding rating on the clinical rating scale. The clinical assessment of the patient may be provided by combining the information from the base clinical assessment with the information generated from analysis of each objective signal. In an embodiment, the clinical assessment may be based exclusively on information generated by analysis of each objective signal. The methods for performing clinical assessment of a patient may also be provided as computer program products having computer readable instructions embodied therein.
