  • Publication number: 20190348249
Abstract: A shield around an x-ray tube, a voltage multiplier, or both can improve the manufacturing process by allowing testing earlier in the process and by providing a holder for liquid potting material. • Patent number: 10476984
Abstract: A content distribution mechanism that distributes content of a content provider at various sites across a network and selects the site that is nearest a content requestor using an anycast address that resides at each of the sites. The sites are configured as nodes (or clusters) and each node includes a content server and a DNS server. The DNS servers are so associated with the content servers at their respective nodes as to resolve the name of the content provider to the IP address of the content servers at the nodes. The DNS servers each are assigned the anycast address in addition to a unique address, and the anycast address is advertised to the network (in particular, the network routing infrastructure) using Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). Node selection occurs when the network routing infrastructure selects a shortest path to the anycast address during DNS name resolution.

  • Publication number: 20190218018
Abstract: A system and method for improved dispensing for protective eyewear components, including frames, lenses and assembled protective eyewear glasses, is described. A housing stores and dispenses the eyewear components through an opening. In an embodiment, the eyewear components may be detachably connected together, such as via perforations, and/or may be coiled in a roll or stacked in serpentine configuration within the housing. Also, in one embodiment, a lever or other mechanism may be coupled to the housing to provide advantageous operations of the dispenser, including assembling and/or dispensing the eyewear components. Accordingly, the system and method provides advantages in that rapid and hygienic dispensing of protective eyewear components may be provided.

  • Publication number: 20190150257
Abstract: In order to reduce the amount of electrical insulation needed for voltage isolation of large voltages generated by a voltage multiplier, the voltage multiplier can be shaped to smooth out electric field gradients. The voltage multiplier can comprise multiple sections, each section located in a different plane. The voltage multiplier can comprise a negative voltage multiplier and a positive voltage multiplier, each inclined at different angles with respect to each other. The voltage multiplier can include a curved shape.

  • Patent number: 8968637
Abstract: A system for the fabrication of dome shaped low temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) substrates comprises a plurality of prefired substrates, a first mandrel, and a second mandrel. The prefired substrates may form a stack and each may include a circular central portion and a plurality of segments uniformly distributed along the circumference of the central portion. Each segment may include a first edge, an opposing second edge, and an end edge. The first and second edges each may have an inner end and an opposing outer end. The end edge may be coupled to the outer end of the first and second edges. The first mandrel may have a first circumference and may be configured to receive the prefired substrates while the stack is formed. The second mandrel may have a second circumference smaller than the first circumference and may be configured to retain the stack during a firing process.

Abstract: Provided are systems and methods for capturing outcome information associated with various cancer treatments. The system facilitates capture and analysis of cancer treatment information and associated outcome information. The treatment and outcome information can include genomic analysis and information on treatment of different cancers. The system can store and analyze any one or more of: tumor type, genomic alterations (e.g., genes and associated alterations, gene sequence mutations, alterations, amplifications, deletions, etc.), and treatment data (including, for example, treatments targeted to specific genes and/or genomic alterations). Users of the outcome system can supply and use the treatment and outcome information to facilitate diagnosis and therapy decisions. User interfaces within the system can be configured to allow users to easily locate outcome information associated with particular treatments of tumors having certain genomic alterations.

  • Patent number: 8501413
Abstract: Development of acquired resistance to the therapeutic effects of an epidermal growth factor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor in a patient that is suffering from a cancer is predicted by: (a) obtaining a sample from the patient, wherein the cancer harbors a somatic gain-of-function mutation in the tyrosine kinase domain of EGFR that enhances the sensitivity of the cancer to the tyrosine kinase inhibitor, and (b) testing the sample to determine whether the gene encoding EGFR is present in a mutant form that encodes a T790M mutant of EGFR in addition to the somatic gain of function mutation. A finding that the mutant form is present indicates that the cancer has become or will become resistant to the EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor.
