  • Publication number: 20150170370
Abstract: In an example embodiment, a method, apparatus and computer program product are provided. The method includes facilitating access of a first image and a second image associated with a scene. The first image and the second image includes depth information and at least one non-redundant portion. A first disparity map of the first image is computed based on the depth information associated with the first image. At least one region of interest (ROI) associated with the at least one non-redundant portion is determined in the first image based on the depth information associated with the first image. A second disparity map of at least one region in the second image corresponding to the at least one ROI of the first image is computed. The first disparity map and the second disparity map are merged to estimate an optimized depth map of the scene.

  • Publication number: 20140211798
Abstract: An IP packet may include an IP header and one or more optional IP extension headers. The packet may contain non-IP protocol data in one of the IP extension headers. An application that uses non-IP protocol data may use the non-IP protocol data from the IP extension header. This allows an application designed for a non-IP protocol stack to operate on a device with an IP protocol stack with minimal modification. The non-IP protocol data may support routing options within a network or sub-network.

  • Patent number: 8019815
Abstract: A method and system for providing live entertainment and teaching using interactive video and audio over an open internet connection to multiple viewers. The entertaining talent-person or teacher is located in various places and locations. In each location the talent-person talks about a particular subject such as cooking, travel, physics, farming, music, politics, or baseball and is broadcasting live audio and video of the talent-person through a camera and microphone connected to a computer, which is connected to the internet. The viewers see and hear the talent live by watching a web page on the viewers' devices connected to the internet. The viewers are able to comment and ask questions to the talent-person through chat input available on the web site. The talent-person to reads the viewer's comments and questions and responds to the question.

  • Patent number: 7733769
Abstract: Nodes in an Internet Protocol (IP) network receive probe packets configured to travel over particular IP media paths. The probe packets cause the network nodes to send media path reports to a logging system. The media path reports contain information identifying the different nodes in the media path. The logging system can reconstruct the network topology of a particular media path from the media path reports which can then be used for debugging purposes. In one embodiment the probe packets are Resource Reservation Setup Protocol (RSVP) packets configured for media path probing.

  • Patent number: 7525952
Abstract: Techniques for finding the source of perceptual audio degradation in an IP telephony environment provide a hop-by-hop analysis of a network over which IP telephony is laid, and may be performed by network switching devices, such as routers, gateways and switches. Rather than monitoring packet loss, these techniques employ perceptual measures to determine the source of audio quality degradation in the network, as perceived by a user or caller. Generally, a reference waveform is systematically sent to intermediate network switching devices along the path between two endpoints. Each intermediate device sends back a return waveform that is based on the respective reference waveform received at each device. From comparing the reference waveform with the return waveform, for each round-trip along the path, the degradation of the audio quality is computed for each round-trip path, from which audio degradation is computed for each hop, from which the source of degradation is determined.

  • Publication number: 20050047710
Abstract: In “All Optical Networks”, switching is done using micro-mirrors and liquid crystals. In one embodiment of the invention, the micro-mirrors are controlled using an electromagnetic control. In a slight variant of this invention the mirrors slide along certain points in a two dimensional matrix and do the switching. In yet another embodiment, the mirrors are mounted on a liquid crystal. Applying an external electric field deforms the liquid crystal. By changing the shape of the liquid crystal, change in directional orientation is brought and switching of the optical signal is done. In the final embodiment, switching is done by successive refraction and reflection of light through an electro-optic material as the refractive index is varied under an external electric field.
