Abstract: Peripherals can be managed in a workspace environment. Peripherals can be associated with hoteling cubes to enable the inclusion of the peripherals in workspaces at the hoteling cubes to be managed. Users can be enabled to request the inclusion of additional peripherals in workspaces at the hoteling cubes. Users can also be enabled to include their own peripherals in workspaces at the hoteling cubes.

Abstract: Best known configurations for workspaces can be managed. Device groups can be defined based on functional roles or organizational departments. Each device group can be associated with a workspace along with a best known configuration for the workspace that is based on the device group. Workspaces can then be deployed to the end-user computing devices based on the device group to which each end-user computing device belongs and in accordance with the associated best known configuration.

Abstract: An information handling system includes a first wireless data communication interface configured to establish wireless data communication links on a first frequency band, a second wireless data communication interface configured to establish wireless data communication links on a second frequency band, and a processor. The processor establishes a first data communication link on the first wireless data communication interface with an access point external to the information handling system, determines a first link characteristic for the first data communication link, establishes a second data communication link on the second wireless data communication interface with the access point, determines a second link characteristic for the second data communication link, selects one of the first and second data communication links based on the first and second link characteristics, and maintains the selected one of the first or second data communication links based upon the selection.

Abstract: An audio processing system includes a microphone array, a speech detection system, and a neural network noise reduction module. The microphone array includes at least two microphones and provides an audio signal from an environment surrounding the microphone array. The speech detection system receives the audio signal, and processes the audio signal to a) detect that a first user is speaking, b) determine a first direction relative to the audio array when the first user is located at a first location within the environment, and c) provide beamforming processing on the audio signal in the first direction, and to provide a processed audio signal based upon the beamforming processing. The neural network noise reduction module reduces noise in the processed audio signal.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for providing a collaboration mode for touchpads are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by the processor, cause the IHS to receive inputs from a posture sensor, a software monitor, and a pen sensor, and set a touchpad to collaboration mode in response to the inputs.

Abstract: An information handling system includes a network interface card and a processor. The network interface card includes first and second virtual network interface cards. The processor communicates with the network interface card, and connects with an infrastructure access point via the first virtual network interface card. The processor forms multiple network connections via the infrastructure access point and the first virtual network interface card. The processor detects a wireless dock is within a predetermined proximity. In response to the wireless dock being within the predetermined proximity, the processor initiates a connection with the wireless dock via the second virtual network interface card. The processor resumes one or more of the network connections through the wireless dock via the second virtual network interface card. In response to the one or more of the network connections being resumed through the wireless dock, the processor drops the connection with the infrastructure access point.

Abstract: Systems and methods for mitigating Information Handling System (IHS) startup latency in hoteling environments due to driver and firmware updates are described. In an embodiment, an IHS configured to: receive an indication of a selected one of a plurality of workspaces; in response to the indication, retrieve a list of driver or firmware updates corresponding to peripheral devices available in the selected workspace; identify a subset of driver or firmware updates among the list of driver or firmware updates based, at least in part, upon a comparison between the list of driver or firmware updates and a list of one or more drivers or firmware installed in the IHS; and initiate installation of the subset of one or more driver or firmware updates before the IHS arrives at the selected workspace.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing workspace configuration recommendations in hoteling environments are described. In an embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the IHS to: receive telemetry data from a plurality of client IHSs, where the telemetry data comprises integrated device data and workspace device data. The program instructions may, upon execution, further cause the IHS to identify, for a client IHS, a workspace configuration recommendation usable in a selected one of a plurality of workspaces based, at least in part, upon the telemetry data, and to transmit an indication of the recommendation to the client IHS.

Abstract: Systems and systems for implementing network manageability techniques that enable intelligent connectivity are described. In an embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by the processor, cause the IHS to: determine that a rule prescribed by a connectivity policy is satisfied by context information collected by the IHS, and, in response to the determination, change at least one of: a wireless communication channel, a protocol, or a network configuration used by the IHS to connect to a wireless docking station.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for platform framework arbitration are described. In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the IHS to: provide, from a platform framework to an arbitration object via an Application Programming Interface (API), a plurality of runtime objects; receive, by the platform framework from the arbitration object via the API, an indication of an arbitration result with respect to the plurality of objects; and convey, from the platform framework to a participant via the API, the indication of the arbitration result.

Abstract: An IHS (Information Handling System) may transition to a low-power state when the IHS is not in use. Upon detecting a wake event, such as a button being pressed, the IHS exits the low-powers state and resumes a full-power operating state. When a wake event is inadvertently triggered, the IHS may reverted to full-power operations without the user's knowledge. In order to detect false wake events, embodiments determine contextual information about the current status of the IHS, such as power status, operational status and user status, at the time of the wake event detection. If a valid wake event is detected, the operating system is notified of the wake event. If the wake event is determined to be inadvertent based on the context of the IHS, such as the IHS being in transport and/or the user not being present in proximity to the IHS, the wake event may be disregarded.

Abstract: A method may include, during a PEI phase BIOS, responsive to a flag being set in a previous boot session of an information handling system to test a first designated region of a memory of the information handling system: testing the first designated region for a memory fault; in response to detecting the memory fault, mapping out the first designated region and designating an additional region of the memory as a designated region for SMRAM and repeating testing of additional designated regions, mapping out of failed additional designated regions, and designating new additional regions of the memory until a designated region passes testing without memory fault; and in response to detecting passage of testing without memory fault of a designated region comprising either of the first designated region or an additional region of the memory, configuring the designated region for use as the SMRAM for the information handling system.

Abstract: Systems and methods for seamless pairing of wireless devices in hoteling environments are described. In an embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS), may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the IHS to: in response to a temporary reservation of one of a plurality of workspaces, receive data associated with a peripheral device located in the workspace; pre-pair the peripheral device to the IHS based upon the data in anticipation of the IHS having reached the workspace; and in response to a determination that the IHS has reached the workspace, complete a pairing of the peripheral device to the IHS.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a communication system including first and second electronic devices that communicate with one another over a plurality of wireless channels. The first electronic device is configured to establish a connection with a second electronic device using a first wireless channel that operates according to a first wireless communication protocol. During communication via the first wireless channel, the first electronic device identifies an operational context of the first electronic device in which the operational context includes a proximity of the first electronic device relative to the second wireless device, and based on the identified operational context, establishes the connection with the second electronic device using a second channel that operates according to a second wireless communication protocol. The first wireless communication protocol is different than the second wireless communication protocol.

Abstract: Embodiments of information handling systems (IHSs) and methods are provided herein to improve the security and performance of a shared cache memory contained within a multi-core host processor. Although not strictly limited to such, the techniques described herein may be used to improve the security and performance of a shared last level cache (LLC) contained within a multi-core host processor included within a virtualized and/or containerized IHS. In the disclosed embodiments, cache security and performance are improved by using pre-boot Memory Reference Code (MRC) based cache initialization methods to create page-sized cache namespaces, which may be dynamically mapped to virtualized and/or containerized applications when the applications are subsequently booted during operating system (OS) runtime.

Abstract: Described herein are methods and a system to correct environmental light reflecting onto a surface of a display. An image is captured by camera which is processed as an image digital map. Light sources on the image digital map are determined based on correlated camera pixel map and display map. Light sources are on the image digital map are augmented by one or more ambient light sensors (ALS) placed on the periphery of the display. Image correction is performed based on the light sources of the image digital map.

Abstract: Device group configurations can be managed across workspaces based on context. A service can be employed on each client computing device that a user may use in his or her workspaces. The service can be configured to determine when a profile applies to a workspace and can automatically apply a device group configuration to the workspace. The service can also monitor for context changes while a device group configuration is applied and can adjust the device group configuration based on the context changes.

Abstract: An information handling system includes a plurality of containerized applications, a container service, a hardware device, and a host processor to initialize a host service. The container service is associated with the containerized applications. The hardware device is virtualized to the containerized applications. The host processor identifies the hardware device that is virtualized to the containerized applications. The host processor receives a power notification from the container service. Based on the power notification, the host processor changes a power state of the hardware device.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for standby operation in a platform framework are described. In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the IHS to: identify an application registered with a platform framework via an Application Programming Interface (API); and at least one of: in response to the identification matching any entry in a whitelist, put the application in a throttled state during standby operation of the IHS; or in response to the identification not matching any entry in the whitelist, put the application in a suspended state during standby operation of the IHS.

Abstract: A system for configuring an information handling system based on a multi-user state change. An intelligent sensor hub communicates with sensors to detect the number of persons in a field of view of the information handling system. When the intelligent sensor hub determines there is a change in the number of persons, the information is sent out-of-band to an embedded controller (EC) independent of a host operating system. The EC makes a change to the configuration of the information handling system if needed.
