  • Patent number: 11662695
Abstract: An information handling system manages operation of an infrared time of flight sensor to provide accurate and timely user presence and absence detection through monitoring of the time of flight distance detection for indications of object velocity that validates or invalidates a transition between the user presence and user absence states. An integrated sensor hub in a central processing unit stores distances received from the infrared time of flight sensor in a distance table in association with a time stamp of the distance measurement. During monitoring of distances received from the infrared time of flight sensor, if the integrated sensor hub detects a user absence or presence, validation of the transition is performed by analyzing the stored distances to determine a vector of velocity at the state transition.

  • Patent number: 11665728
Abstract: An Information Handling System (IHS) includes executable instructions for establishing a communication session conveyed through a first band provided by an access point having a multi-band simultaneous protocol. When the instructions determine that the communication session should be conveyed through a second band provided by the access point (AP), they transmit one or more communication session parameters associated with the communication session to the access point to prepare a second band provided by the AP to convey the communication session. After transmitting the communication session parameters to the second band MAC component of the IHS and the second band MAC component of the AP, the instructions then initiate a switch over to the second band.

  • Patent number: 11662973
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for audio session management for workspaces operating on an Information Handling System (IHS), where the workspaces utilize virtualization to operate in isolation from a portion of the hardware and software of the IHS. Audio capabilities of the IHS are registered with a remote workspace orchestration service that manages deployment of workspaces on the IHS. A workspace is instantiated on the IHS according to a workspace definition provided by the orchestration service that also provides a handle for operating the audio capabilities of the IHS on behalf of the first workspace. An audio context is determined based on utilization of the workspaces operating on the IHS. The handle is utilized for modifying audio settings of the first workspace based on the audio context. The handle is also utilized for operating the audio capabilities of the IHS based on user inputs to the plurality of workspaces.

  • Patent number: 11650860
Abstract: Services can be managed across containers. A management service can obtain or compile configuration information for containerized applications and containerized services that are hosted on a computing device. The configuration information can define how a containerized application is dependent on a containerized service. Using the configuration information, the management service can establish data paths between containers to enable container services running in the containers to perform cross-container communications by which a containerized application in one container can access a containerized service in another container. The management service may also enable a container service to perform communications by which a containerized application can access services provided by the host operating system.

  • Patent number: 11650939
Abstract: Access to peripherals can be managed in a containerized environment. A management service can be employed on a computing device to detect when a container is created. When a container is created or a peripheral is connected, the management service can determine that an application running within the container should be allowed to access a peripheral. The management service can then interface with a peripheral mapper running within the container to enable the application to access the peripheral. A peripheral access manager can also be employed to isolate the peripheral to the container.

  • Publication number: 20230094177
Abstract: Dependent containers can be managed based on context. When an application is deployed in a container and relies on a service or other resource external to the container, context about the container, the application and any data paths the container may require can be monitored and used to calculate a container instance weight, an application weight and a data path weight. Such weights can then be used to calculate a per container weight which in turn can be used to determine if any changes in container type or location may be more optimal for an application. Such weights can also be used to calculate a per solution weight which in turn can be used to determine if any changes in container type or location may be more optimal for a solution.
