  • Publication number: 20180122422
Abstract: Introduced herein are techniques for improving media content production and consumption by utilizing metadata associated with the relevant media content. More specifically, systems and techniques are introduced herein for automatically producing media content (e.g., a video composition) using several inputs uploaded by a filming device (e.g., an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) copter or action camera), an operator device, and/or some other computing device. Some or all of these devices may include non-visual sensors that generate sensor data. Interesting segments of raw video recorded by the filming device can be formed into a video composition based on events detected within the non-visual sensor data that are indicative of interesting real world events. For example, substantial variations or significant absolute values in elevation, pressure, acceleration, etc., may be used to identify segments of raw video that are likely to be of interest to a viewer.

  • Publication number: 20180102143
Abstract: Introduced herein are systems and techniques for automatically producing media content (e.g., a video composition) using several inputs uploaded by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) copter, an operator device, and/or some other computing device. More specifically, production and modification techniques based on sensor-driven events are described herein that allow videos to be created on behalf of a user of the UAV copter. Interesting segments of raw video recorded by the UAV copter can be formed into a video composition based on sensor events that are indicative of interesting real world events. The sensors responsible for detecting the events may be connected to (or housed within) the UAV copter, the operator device, and/or some other computing device. Sensor measurements can also be used to modify the positioning, movement pattern, focus level/point, etc., of the UAV copter responsible for generating the raw video.

  • Publication number: 20180103288
Abstract: An interactive television program guide system is provided in which a user may use the program guide to watch one program while simultaneously recording another program without interrupting the recording or viewing process. This interactive television program guide system also allows a user the to utilize all or some of the program guide features while in the watch and record mode depending on the embodiment that is being implemented. Further, this watch and record system may be implemented using a multiple tuner set-top box or a single tuner set-top box with a RF bypass or digital switch. In addition to a set-top box, the system may be implemented using a satellite receiver, an advanced television with a processor and memory, or a computer. • Patent number: 9844461
Abstract: Home-use applicators for non-invasively removing heat from subcutaneous, lipid-rich cells via phase change coolants, and associated devices, systems and methods. A device in accordance with a particular embodiment includes an applicator releasably positionable in thermal communication with human skin, and a coolant vessel having a coolant. The device further includes a heat transfer conduit operatively coupled to the applicator and housing a heat transfer fluid that is isolated from fluid contact with the coolant. A heat exchanger is operatively coupled between the coolant vessel and the heat transfer conduit to transfer heat between the heat transfer fluid and the coolant, and a fluid driver is operatively coupled to the heat transfer conduit to direct the heat transfer fluid between the applicator and the heat exchanger.

  • Publication number: 20170290518
Abstract: A system for measuring the blood loss comprises a measuring device that determines a hemoglobin concentration of fluid within a container utilizing a light source and a light detector. The container receives blood and other fluids from a patient during a medical procedure. Light from the light source is passed through the blood and other fluids in the container and is detected by the light detector. Based upon a magnitude of light detected, a hemoglobin concentration of the fluid in the container can be determined. A volume-measuring device determines the volume of blood and fluid in the container. Knowing the hemoglobin concentration and volume of fluid in the container, the volume of patient blood loss in the container can be determined. The blood loss measuring device in combination with infusion systems maintains a real-blood volume status so that proper infusion of blood, crystalloid and/or colloid solutions occurs.
