  • Patent number: 11419730
Abstract: An artificial knee that has first and second knee components connected together for rotation between a first, upright position and a second position where one knee component is positioned at an angle to the other, an alignment mechanism associated with the first and second knee components to assure rotation in a vertical plane from the first position to the second position, and a biasing member. One knee component includes an extension member located in a central location, while the other includes a centrally located slot that receives the extension member and allows rotation only in a vertical plane. The biasing member normally holds the knee components in the first position, such that rotation of the first knee component away from the second knee component stretches or elongates the biasing member to provide a force that urges the knee components to move back to the first position.

  • Publication number: 20220199269
Abstract: A nuclear reactor has a core installed on a lower core plate and formed from multiple fuel assemblies, each fuel assembly including a structural cage assembly. The structural cage assembly has an upper end fitting, mid grids, and a lower end fitting (LEF). The LEF positions the fuel assembly using four locating pins located at each corner of the LEF. The pins position the fuel assembly laterally by mating with receiving holes in the lower core plate. The locating pins have a chamfered tip with a flat end. The chamfered tip allows for a greater positioning margin when installing the fuel assembly in the core by guiding the pins into holes in the lower core plate, and the flat tip provides strength and stability in case the assembly is inadvertently rested on the tip of the pin instead of the LEF pads.

  • Patent number: 11365618
Abstract: Hydraulic fracturing a subterranean formation including to count the number and types of fractures created in real time. The hydraulic fracturing involves injecting a frac slurry having frac fluid and proppant through a wellbore into the subterranean formation, hydraulic fracturing the subterranean formation with the frac slurry, and observing change in fracture counts with changes in proppant size and proppant concentration in the frac slurry. The hydraulic fracturing includes shear fracturing the rock in the subterranean formation. Operating parameters of the hydraulic fracturing may be adjusted in real time to increase the amount of shear fracturing occurring per unit time. Such adjusting may be based on resonant frequency at which the rock fractures with destruction as super shearing.

  • Publication number: 20220183823
Abstract: To percutaneously deliver a replacement tricuspid valve, a cable is percutaneously positioned with a first end extending out of the venous vasculature at the neck, and a second end extending out of a femoral access point. An eyehook device is positioned over the first end. A tricuspid valve delivery device (TVDD) is advanced over the second end, and then advanced through an IVC into a right atrium. The eyehook device is advanced into the right ventricle, drawing an intermediate portion of the cable into the right ventricle. Contact between the distal end of the eyehook device and the right ventricle is maintained while the TVDD is pushed from the femoral vein. The intermediate portion of cable applies a force to a distal nose of the TVDD that causes the distal nose to be steered into a tricuspid valve annulus as the TVDD is advanced.
