  • Patent number: 11329754
Abstract: A system and method for including multiple data rate sub-blocks within a single data block includes dividing data blocks based on a priority or intended set of recipients. The sub-blocks are modulated at increasing data rates and the modulated sub-blocks are appended together and bounded by the known symbol blocks during transmission. The sub-blocks are organized in order of increasing data rate. During decoding, detected symbols of a first, low data rate sub-block are included in the detection process of higher data rate sub-blocks in place of additional symbols that would otherwise be needed for higher data rate transmissions. Alternatively, the sub-blocks may be organized with low data rate sub-block at the periphery and higher data rate sub-blocks in the interior such that the data block may be decoded from both ends.

  • Patent number: 11303067
Abstract: It is common for a power tool system from a manufacturer to include a battery pack that is designed and configured to mate and operate with at least one power tool and a battery charger. However, as systems have evolved it has become desirable to provide a battery pack that is designed and configured to mate and operate with at least one power tool and a first battery charger but not a second battery charger. The present disclosure provides a battery pack including a housing, a terminal block, a plurality of terminals, and a mechanical lockout for allowing engagement with a power tool and a first battery charger while preventing engagement with a second battery charger.

  • Patent number: 11288073
Abstract: A hybrid processor includes a classical (digital) processor and a quantum processor and implements a calibration procedure to calibrate devices in the quantum processor. Parameter measurements are defined as vertices in a directed acyclic graph. Dependencies between measurements are defined as directed edges between vertices. The calibration procedure orders the vertices, respecting the order of the dependencies while at least attempting to reduce the time needed to perform all the measurements. The calibration procedure provides a level of abstraction to allow non-expert users to use the calibration procedure. Each vertex has a set of attributes defining the status of the measurement, time of the measurement and value of the measurement.

  • Patent number: 11289209
Abstract: A nuclear reactor has a core installed on a lower core plate and formed from multiple fuel assemblies, each fuel assembly including a structural cage assembly. The structural cage assembly has an upper end fitting, mid grids, and a lower end fitting (LEF). The LEF positions the fuel assembly using four locating pins located at each corner of the LEF. The pins position the fuel assembly laterally by mating with receiving holes in the lower core plate. The locating pins have a chamfered tip with a flat end. The chamfered tip allows for a greater positioning margin when installing the fuel assembly in the core by guiding the pins into holes in the lower core plate, and the flat tip provides strength and stability in case the assembly is inadvertently rested on the tip of the pin instead of the LEF pads.
