  • Publication number: 20150072606
Abstract: The side profile of a hard drive assembly may be configured with one or more open areas to allow cooling air to pass side-to-side through a lateral flow channel provided by a cavity defined in the base portion of the hard drive assembly. Corresponding and complementary open areas may be also be defined in mating drive carrier assembly side components to allow passage of lateral side-to-side cooling air through the base portion flow channel of a hard drive assembled to the drive carrier assembly to form a mountable hard drive system that is installed into a storage enclosure. The at least partially aligned open flow areas of the assembled hard dive assembly and drive carrier assembly may cooperate to reduce air flow impedance across multiple rows of hard drive systems through a storage enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20140212068
Abstract: A high-clarity, cast polypropylene produce pouch with first and second sidewalls and a bottom panel joined to form a pouch wherein the first and second sidewalls and the bottom panel are formed from cast polypropylene. The bottom panel can be a bottom gusset panel. The first and second sidewalls and the bottom gusset panel can have edges joined by side welding or heat sealing. Zipper or slide closures can close the first and second sidewalls. A method for forming a high-clarity, cast polypropylene produce pouch comprises creating a polypropylene (PP) resin, passing the polypropylene (PP) resin through a cast extruding machine and extruding molten polypropylene (PP) to produced extruded polypropylene (PP), rolling the extruded polypropylene (PP) in a cooling roller, and applying a surface-modifying corona treatment to the extruded polypropylene (PP).

  • Publication number: 20130288993
Abstract: We provide a set of novel mutations in HIST3H3, AMT, GLDC and PEX7 genes which we have discovered as causative of some autism spectrum disorders and/or intellectual disability after analysis of families with more than one affected child and with consanguineous parents. Based on some of these mutations, we also provide novel treatment options for autism spectrum disorders and/or intellectual disability wherein the novel mutations have been diagnosed. The invention is based on the discovery that certain specific mutations, particularly when present in a homozygous, compound heterozygous, or trans heterozygous combinations, result in a phenotype of an autism spectrum disorder and/or intellectual disability. Some mutations also cause the disorder or disease as heterozygous mutation.

  • Publication number: 20080123776
Abstract: The present invention provides a dynamic power spectrum management method, a spectrum optimization system, and a client device, which can improve spectrum management. The method includes: calculating, from a tax factor containing user crosstalk information, a water-filling parameter corresponding to the case that total power of each user is below or equal to a threshold of total power of the user; calculating, from the water-filling parameter, power allocated to each user in each sub-carrier until convergence is attained for all users. Correspondingly, the present invention further provides a spectrum optimization system and a client device. In effect, the present invention can improve the spectrum management.

  • Patent number: 7069571
Abstract: A method and apparatus facilitate the retirement of interactive applications in a manner associated with an external event and a program state of the interactive application. A broadcaster transmits an interactive application that includes a plurality of retirement instructions associated with external events and internal program states of the interactive application. A broadcast receiver receives an interactive application, stores the included retirement instructions, and executes the interactive application concurrently with the display of an associated television program. The broadcast receiver monitors the broadcast signal for events indicating that the executing interactive application is no longer appropriate for the current television program.

  • Patent number: 6247749
Abstract: A folding chair of the type having a frame constructed of pivotally connected scissors like “X”-shaped structure strut members supporting a sling seat, the lower ends of which form two front feet and two rear feet and the upper ends of which form two front seat corners and two rear seat corners of the chair. The folding chair includes a pair of upright telescopic supports mounted between the two front seat corners and the two front feet. The upright telescopic supports extend when the frame is folded and collapse telescopically when the chair is deployed. • Patent number: 6243728
Abstract: A partitioned shift right logic circuit that is programmable and contains rounding support. The circuit of the present invention accepts a 32-bit value and a shift amount and then performs a right shift operation on the 32-bits and automatically rounds the result(s). Signed or unsigned values can be accepted. The right shift circuit is partitioned so that the 32-bit value can represent: (1) a single 32-bit number; or (2) two 16-bit values. A 1 bit selection input indicates the particular partition format. In operation, if the input value is not negative, then one (“1”) is added at the guard bit position and a right shift with truncate is performed. If the input is negative and the guard bit is zero, then no addition is done and a right shift with truncate is performed. If the input is negative and the guard bit is one and the sticky bit is zero, then no addition is done and a right shift with truncate is performed.

  • Patent number: 6163583
Abstract: A dynamic clocking computer system for a processor. The dynamic clocking computer system comprises a clock divider circuit, a multiplexer, and a state machine circuit. The clock divider circuit receives a first clock and outputs the first clock and generates a second clock. The second clock is supplied to external circuitry. The state machine circuit is coupled to the clock divider circuit and receives the first and second clocks from the clock divider circuit. The state machine circuit also receives an external access signal indicating an internal clock to select from the first and second clocks. In response to the external access signal, the state machine circuit generates a select signal to enable the multiplexer to select an internal clock. When the selected internal clock is the second clock, the internal clock is synchronized to the second clock. The multiplexer is coupled to the clock divider circuit and receives the first and second clocks through the clock divider circuit.

  • Patent number: 5682520
Abstract: The array processor includes a grid of individual morphological processing elements formed on a VLSI chip. Each element of the grid includes a photo-detector for directly sensing a pixel of an image projected upon the chip. A signal generated by the photo-detector is sensed by a threshold circuit which outputs a binary value having a value depending upon the intensity of the light detector by the photo-detector. Each element also includes morphological processing circuitry for manipulating the binary value received from the threshold detector in accordance with predetermined morphological processing operations and in accordance with binary values received from adjacent processing elements. After modification of the binary value by application of one or more morphological processing operations, the binary value of each processing element is used to control a respective LCD element for displaying a pixel of a modified image. In this manner, all pixels of a modified image are output in parallel.
