  • Patent number: 12063553
Abstract: A method and system for controlling air-interface resources on a radio-frequency (RF) carrier on which an access node provides wireless communication service. While the access node is set to apply at least two resource-reservations (e.g., PRB-reservations) that are mutually exclusive on the carrier, a computing system detects that resource-availability on the carrier is threshold low. And in response to the detecting, the computing system causes the access node to combine together the at least two resource-reservations on the carrier The combining together of the at least two resource-reservations on the carrier retains the at least two resource-reservations on the carrier but results in a reduction in aggregate total quantity of air-interface resources consumed by the at least two resource-reservations on the carrier.

  • Publication number: 20240264649
Abstract: A point-of-sale (POS) device includes a processor, a battery, a transaction object reader, a printer with a printer controller, and optionally a temperature sensor. The processor determines a present power discharge capability rate of the battery, optionally based on a temperature measured by the temperature sensor. The processor also calculates a first estimated power draw rate based on a first setting value for at least one of the components of the POS device, such as the printer. If the first estimated power draw rate is dangerously close to the present power discharge capability rate of the battery, a second estimated power draw rate is calculated based on a second setting value for the one or more components. If the second estimated power draw rate is no longer dangerously close to the present power discharge capability rate of the battery, the components are set to the second settings value.

  • Patent number: 12056735
Abstract: Methods and systems of providing alternative advert (AA) query items for an AA system are disclosed. A request is received to generate an AA query. In response to the request, it is determined whether a percentage of scoreable AA query items for which a viewer has a known or derived preference exceeds a threshold value. Each scoreable AA query item has an assigned equity score and an assigned viewer-item affinity score. In response to determining that the percentage of scoreable AA query items exceeds the threshold value, one or more first AA query types are determined to create for the viewer. The requested AA query is sent. A response to the sent AA query is received. Equity scores and viewer-item affinity scores of total scoreable AA query items are updated based on the response.

  • Patent number: 12053334
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device (1) for providing image data during an extraction procedure for extracting a lead from the body of a subject using an extraction device (7). The device comprises an input (2) for receiving live x-ray projection image data of the lead during the extraction procedure and for receiving three-dimensional image data as acquired before the extraction procedure. A processing unit (3) determines a position of the extraction device (7) in the three-dimensional image data by detecting the position in the live projection image data during the procedure and correlates this position in the live projection image data with the position in the three-dimensional image data. An output (4) generates an image of a cross-sectional view of the lead and/or its surrounding body structure at the determined position based on the three-dimensional image data.

  • Patent number: 12056496
Abstract: Disclosed herein are various embodiments, for a fast boot system. An example embodiment operates by determining that one or more programs have been loaded into memory on a boot-up of a device. A snapshot of the memory including the loaded one or more programs is captured. Operations of the device are monitored after the snapshot has been captured. It is determined that a first program of the one or more programs was updated during the monitoring. A restart of the device is detected, wherein the snapshot is loaded into the memory in lieu of loading the one or more programs, and wherein the first program is updated during the restart of the device.

  • Patent number: 12057332
Abstract: A photoresist material is deposited, patterned, and developed on a backside of a wafer to expose specific regions on the backside of chips for etching. These specific regions are etched to form etched regions through the backside of the chips to a specified depth within the chips. The specified depth may correspond to an etch stop material. Etching of the backside of the wafer can also be done along the chip kerf regions to reduce stress during singulation/dicing of individual chips from the wafer. Etching of the backside of the chips can be done with the chips still part of the intact wafer. Or, the wafer having the pattered and developed photoresist on its backside can be singulated/diced before etching through the backside of the individual chips. The etched region(s) formed through the backside of a chip can be used for attachment of optical component(s) to the chip.

  • Publication number: 20240257809
Abstract: A system is provided for modifying how an output is presented via a multi-device synchronous configuration based on detecting a speech characteristic in the user input. For example, if the user whispers a request, then the system may temporarily modify how the responsive output is presented to the user via multiple devices. In one example, the system may lower the volume on all devices presented the output. In another example, the system may present the output via a single device rather than multiple devices. The system may also determine to operate in an alternate output mode based on certain non-audio data.

  • Publication number: 20240259919
Abstract: An example method for providing enhanced wireless connectivity to client devices is presented. In one example, an access point is configured to monitor management frames it receives and determines if any neighbor AP advertises an unexpected regulatory setting (e.g., country code), and take corrective action if it is determined that the neighbor AP advertises an unexpected regulatory setting. In another example, a network device may be configured to manage a mobile country code (MCC) of the client device by transmitting an executable application. The executable application may ensure that the client device implements the right regulatory configuration. The proposed techniques may prevent the client device from switching to an incorrect regulatory configuration, thereby enhancing the wireless connectivity for the client device.

  • Publication number: 20240259229
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for managing sensor event rules are described. Methods may comprise determining a sensor event rule, wherein the sensor event rule comprises a rule sensor identifier and a rule event identifier. Data indicative of a sensor event may be received. The data may be associated with a first premises device. The data may further indicate an identifier of the first premises device and an identifier of a sensor event. Based on determining that the identifier of the rule sensor identifier corresponds to the identifier of the first premises device and that the rule event identifier corresponds to the identifier of the sensor event, a control signal may be transmitted to a second premise device. The control signal may be configured to cause configuration of one or more settings associated with one or more functions of the second premises device.

  • Publication number: 20240253382
Abstract: Printing multi-color images on non-vinyl plastic identification documents in identification document printing systems. A non-linear pixel density adjustment curve is used to adjust the pixel density data of a multi-color image to be printed which adjusts the power applied to the thermal print head. The use of a non-linear pixel density adjustment curve to adjust the pixel density data improves the quality of the resulting multi-color printed image, reduces mass transfer of the dye donor layer, and reduces breaking of the carrier film of the print ribbon.

  • Publication number: 20240258769
Abstract: A laser device comprises a gain chip that emits light, and a photonics chip optically coupled to the gain chip. The photonics chip comprises a waveguide platform including an input waveguide optically coupled to the gain chip. The input waveguide optical communicates with a cascaded arrangement of waveguide grating structures on the waveguide platform. The grating structures comprise a first grating structure that produces a single resonance frequency within a stopband, and a second grating structure in optical communication with the first grating structure. The second grating structure diffracts a narrowband resonance, overlapping with the stopband of the first grating structure, back toward the gain chip, while passing any light outside of the stopband of the first grating structure out of the waveguide platform. The grating structures cooperate to yield a single resonance frequency that feeds back into the gain chip to produce a self-injection lock for the laser device.
