Patent number: 11966687Abstract: In some implementations, a client device may provide, in a document object of a user interface, a primary document content section, and a secondary document content section that includes first document content. The client device may receive, via a first input and a second input, user input of a particular combination of an objective and an outcome for the objective. The client device may obtain presentation information that identifies a plurality of informational content blocks responsive to the particular combination. The client device may insert code based on the presentation information into the document object, where the code causes the secondary document content section to change content from the first document content to second document content. The client device may provide the user interface for presentation by the client device based on inserting the code into the document object.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2022Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Miguel Lunaparra, Melissa Madrid, Samantha Anna King, Subha Duraisamy, Tsun Wai Tang, Laya Esmaeili Zare, Shoshana Holtzblatt, Victor Corral

Patent number: 11908463Abstract: Techniques for storing and using multi-session context are described. A system may store context data corresponding to a first interaction, where the context data may include action data, entity data and a profile identifier for a user. Later the stored context data may be retrieved during a second interaction corresponding to the entity of the second interaction. The second interaction may take place at a system different than the first interaction. The system may generate a response during the second interaction using the stored context data of the prior interaction.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2021Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Arjit Biswas, Shishir Bharathi, Anushree Venkatesh, Yun Lei, Ashish Kumar Agrawal, Siddhartha Reddy Jonnalagadda, Prakash Krishnan, Arindam Mandal, Raefer Christopher Gabriel, Abhay Kumar Jha, David Chi-Wai Tang, Savas Parastatidis

Patent number: 11908468Abstract: A system that is capable of resolving anaphora using timing data received by a local device. A local device outputs audio representing a list of entries. The audio may represent synthesized speech of the list of entries. A user can interrupt the device to select an entry in the list, such as by saying “that one.” The local device can determine an offset time representing the time between when audio playback began and when the user interrupted. The local device sends the offset time and audio data representing the utterance to a speech processing system which can then use the offset time and stored data to identify which entry on the list was most recently output by the local device when the user interrupted. The system can then resolve anaphora to match that entry and can perform additional processing based on the referred to item.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2020Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Prakash Krishnan, Arindam Mandal, Siddhartha Reddy Jonnalagadda, Nikko Strom, Ariya Rastrow, Ying Shi, David Chi-Wai Tang, Nishtha Gupta, Aaron Challenner, Bonan Zheng, Angeliki Metallinou, Vincent Auvray, Minmin Shen

Publication number: 20220093093Abstract: A system can operate a speech-controlled device in a mode where the speech-controlled device determines that an utterance is directed at the speech-controlled device using image data showing the user speaking the utterance. If the user is directing the user's gaze at the speech-controlled device while speaking, the system may determine the utterance is system directed and thus may perform further speech processing based on the utterance. If the user's gaze is directed elsewhere, the system may determine the utterance is not system directed (for example directed at another user) and thus the system may not perform further speech processing based on the utterance and may take other actions, for example discarding audio data of the utterance.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 4, 2020Publication date: March 24, 2022Inventors: Prakash Krishnan, Arindam Mandal, Nikko Strom, Pradeep Natarajan, Ariya Rastrow, Shiv Naga Prasad Vitaladevuni, David Chi-Wai Tang, Aaron Challenner, Xu Zhang, Krishna Anisetty, Josey Diego Sandoval, Rohit Prasad, Premkumar Natarajan

Patent number: 11276567Abstract: On field ionization under ambient conditions is described and applied on both ionization and desorption of various chemicals and biochemical present on the surface of materials in solid, liquid or gas states. The Atmospheric Pressure Megavolt Electrostatic Field Ionization Desorption (APME-FID) method generates ions directly from the surface of samples connected to a high electrical voltage at megavolt conditions. Megavolt electrostatic potential is generated and gradually accumulated directly on the sample surface by a Van de Graaff generator without causing damage to the sample. Therefore, when coupled with mass spectrometric system, the APME-FID-MS method enables direct detection of analytes on the surface of samples in different sizes and diverse types.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2019Date of Patent: March 15, 2022Assignee: THE UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONGInventors: Kwan Ming Ng, Ho Wai Tang, Sin Heng Man

Publication number: 20200353398Abstract: Embodiments of present disclosure relates to a filter for use in a vacuum food processor and a vacuum food processor including the filter. The filter comprising: a first filter part adapted to direct a suction airflow generated by a vacuum module of the vacuum food processor into the filter via an inlet channel; and a second filter part adapted to coaxially fit with the first filter part and comprising a cavity, the cavity adapted to maintain non-gaseous substance that is moving along with the suction airflow inside the filter, wherein the first filter part and the second filter part jointly define an outlet channel at a bottom of first filter part, the outlet channel adapted to direct the suction airflow outside the filter. In this way, the food particles/bubbles can be prevented from entering the vacuum module, while the suction airflow is allowed to freely flow to the vacuum module.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2019Publication date: November 12, 2020Inventors: Samuel CUARESMA, JR., Chuangguan XU, Kin Wai TANG

Publication number: 20200175016Abstract: Multiple cost models (e.g., a sub-operations costing model and logical-operations costing model) can be used to make cost estimations of execution of database queries in one and each one of the multiple heterogeneous database systems. As a result, a “hybrid” cost estimating mode can be used whereby two or more cost models can be used in a single database system in to order maximize the advantages and minimize the disadvantages of each of the cost models, thereby striving to achieve an optimal balance. In addition, cost estimation can be switched between a hybrid cost estimating mode and a single cost estimating mode. The switch can, for example, be made as a part of tuning phase, as more information about actual costs of execution of database queries becomes more available, or as a result of changes to the database system and/or it operations, and so on. As a result, a flexible cost estimating mechanism can also be provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2018Publication date: June 4, 2020Applicant: Teradata US, Inc.Inventors: Sanjay Nair, Sreyas Srimath Tirumala, Nurjahan Begum, Chandana Prakash, Mohammed Al-Kateb, Conrad Kwok-Wai Tang, Mohamed Yassin Eltabakh, Kassem Awada, Grace Kwan-On Au

Publication number: 20170260638Abstract: A method for manufacturing a composite part of polymer and metal utilizes a mold having a plurality of mold parts and forming a layer of metal on at least one inner or cavity-facing surface of the mold. Thereafter the mold parts are assembled to one another to form a mold cavity defined in part by the layer of metal. The mold cavity is then filled with resin material so that the resin material is in contact with the layer of metal. A curing or hardening of the resin material in the mold cavity is followed by an opening of the mold and the removal of a composite part having a metal shell or outer layer and a polymeric backing or inner layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2016Publication date: September 14, 2017Inventors: Tit Shing WONG, Sui Kay WONG, Wai Choi LEUNG, Si Ping YANG, Siu Wai TANG
