  • Publication number: 20040024472
Abstract: Method and system for a direct transmission of motion path data (310) from a generating system (204) to a control system (205) for use in controlling a servo-driven machine. For example, a machine tool for machining stock material, and the data generating system includes a computer-aided-design software package (301). Tool paths for directing the tool members of the machine tool can be extracted from a design file opened by the CAD software through the operation interface of the CAD software (302). Alternatively, the design file can be used to specify motion paths rather than end product geometry. The CAD interpreter application extracts the motion path data from the design file, eliminating the need to translate the data into another or intermediate form for controlling the machine tool.

  • Publication number: 20020076049
Abstract: A distributing system includes an encoder, a perceptual encryption module and a server. The encoder encodes the file of high quality video as encoded data in MP3 format. The encoded file has a plurality of frames. Each frame has a header with a sync and side information and main information. The perceptual encryption module perceptually encrypts the encoded data in MP3 format to generate restricted video data as perceptually encrypted encoded data. The server with a memory bank stores and distributes the perceptually encrypted encoded data. A receiving system receiving system includes a receiver with a memory bank, a perceptual decryption module and a decoder. The receiver receives and stores the perceptually encrypted encoded data. The perceptual decryption module perceptually decrypts the perceptually encrypted encoded data to generate encoded data in MP3 format. The decoder decodes the file of encoded data in MP3 format to generate high quality video.

  • Patent number: 6349634
Abstract: An improvement to a grill wherein the affective radius of a rotary heating element is locally varied to improve engagement and rotation of a food items, including next generation dough involved food items and the like, on the grill. Attachments for retrofitting of existing, commercially available grills, and methods of using the improved grills are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6207312
Abstract: A self-humidifying polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell assembly has an ion-exchange membrane interposed between hydrogen and oxygen diffusion layers to form a membrane electrode assembly (MEA). The MEA is in turn interposed between a pair of current collector plates having flow field channels for flowing the reactants adjacent the respective diffusion layers to produce corresponding anodic and cathodic electrochemical reactions. Various embodiments of the assembly incorporate one or more of the following features: interdigitated flow field channels, countercurrent reactant flows, opposing channel alignment, and uncatalyzed membrane hydration enhancement zones.

  • Patent number: 5988911
Abstract: A washing soap dispensing system and method of manufacture comprising a wand adapted for the discharge of water therefrom in a second mode of operation and for the discharge of water and soap in a first mode of operation. The washing wand is constructed with a chamber adapted for containing concentrated liquid soap. The system includes an adjustable metering device for accurately dispensing concentrated liquid soap from the wand and a fluid assist water valve to control the flow of water through the wand.

  • Patent number: 5855142
Abstract: A retainer for a crossover tube of a ball screw between a rack piston and a worm shaft of a motor vehicle power steering gear. The ball screw includes a helical passage between the rack piston and the worm shaft, a U-shaped crossover tube on the rack piston, and a plurality of bearing balls which roll in a ball circuit defined by the helical passage and the crossover tube. The crossover tube retainer is a molded plastic arch straddling a linear segment of the crossover tube having a web bridging the gap between the crossover tube and the rack piston bore. The thrust of the bearing balls urging dislodgment of the crossover tube from the rack piston is reacted against the rack piston bore through the web of the molded plastic arch across a bearing surface of the web having a contour complementary to the contour of the rack piston bore above the molded plastic arch.

  • Patent number: 4693800
Abstract: The surface characteristics of dispersed particles such as vinyl resins are changed through the use of an anode electrolyte in an electrofilter. Accordingly, the properties of intermediate and final products made from these resins such as plastisols and fused films or coatings can be favorably changed. Properties which are altered include plastisol viscosity, film clarity, and foamability.
