Patent number: 12005113Abstract: The present invention is directed to novel nucleotide and amino acid sequences of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (“PEDV”), including novel genotypes thereof, all of which are useful in the preparation of vaccines for treating and preventing diseases in swine and other animals. Vaccines provided according to the practice of the invention are effective against multiple swine PEDV genotypes and isolates. Diagnostic and therapeutic polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies are also a feature of the present invention, as are infectious clones useful in the propagation of the virus and in the preparation of vaccines. Particularly important aspects of the invention include polynucleotide constructs that replicate in tissue culture and in host swine. The invention also provides for novel full length PEDV genomes that can replicate efficiently in host animals and tissue culture.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2020Date of Patent: June 11, 2024Assignees: Zoetis Services LLC, Iowa State University Research Foundation, Inc.Inventors: Jianqiang Zhang, Qi Chen, Phillip Gauger, Darin Madson, John Morgan Hardham, Meggan Bandrick, Jay Gregory Calvert, James Richard Thompson, Mira Ivanova Stoeva, Walter Valdez

Publication number: 20230144623Abstract: The present invention provides methods comprising the in vivo delivery of small nucleic acid molecules capable of mediating RNA interference and reducing the expression of myostatin, wherein the small nucleic acid molecules are introduced to a subject by systemic administration. Specifically, the invention relates to methods comprising the in vivo delivery of short interfering nucleic acid (siNA) molecules that target a myostatin gene expressed by a subject, wherein the siNA molecule is conjugated to a lipophilic moiety, such as cholesterol. The myostatin siNA conjugates that are delivered as per the methods disclosed are useful to modulate the in vivo expression of myostatin, increase muscle mass and/or enhance muscle performance. Use of the disclosed methods is further indicated for treating musculoskeletal diseases or disorders and/or diseases or disorders that result in conditions in which muscle is adversely affected.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2022Publication date: May 11, 2023Inventors: Marija Tadin-Strapps, Tayeba Khan, Walter Richard Strapps, Laura Sepp-Lorenzino, Vasant R. Patent number: 8973271Abstract: In certain embodiments, a method for manufacturing an integral duplex bearing having an outer ring, a first inner ring, and a second inner ring includes forming a first outer raceway and a second outer raceway in an inner surface of the outer ring. The method further includes forming a first inner raceway in an outer surface of the first inner ring and a second inner raceway in an outer surface of the second inner ring while the first inner ring and the second inner ring are joined together. The first and second inner rings each have an outer surface diameter less than an inner surface diameter of the outer ring such that the first and second inner rings may be positioned inside the outer ring with the first inner raceway located adjacent to the first outer raceway and the second inner raceway located adjacent to the second outer raceway. The method further includes separating the first inner ring from the second inner ring.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2011Date of Patent: March 10, 2015Assignee: Schatz Bearing CorporationInventors: John P. Patent number: 8640282Abstract: A fitted bed sheet capable of fitting mattresses of multiple lengths is disclosed. The fitted bed sheet has a first section constructed primarily of non-stretch material and a second section sewn to the foot of the first section that is constructed primarily of non-elastic stretch material. The second section stretches to accommodate mattresses of longer lengths thereby eliminating the need to maintain multiple fitted bed sheets. The present invention increases user comfort, can be processed in commercial laundries, reduces the labor of making the bed, is easier to fold, and has a longer useful life than fitted sheets constructed with elastic stretch material. The fitted bed sheet can be washed, ironed, and folded automatically. The present invention may be used in institutional or private settings.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2013Date of Patent: February 4, 2014Inventors: Sara Barbara Maguire, Walter Richard Maguire
