  • Patent number: 6184006
Abstract: A method for the production of D-pantothenic acid by the fermentation of microorganisms of the family Enterobacteriacae producing D-pantothenic acid which is characterized in that strains are used which a) Contain the plasmid pFV31 and/or pFV202 and that b) A panD gene and optionally other nucleotide sequences coding for aspartate-1-decarboxylase are enhanced, especially overexpressed in these microorganisms, c) The pantothenic acid is enriched in the medium or in the cells of the microorganisms and d) The pantothenic acid formed is isolated.

  • Patent number: 6133000
Abstract: A process is disclosed for the fermentative preparation of amino acids, in which an L-lysine producing bacterial strain of the species Corynebacterium glutamicum is cultivated in a nutrient medium and the amino acids can be isolated from the culture medium at the end of fermentation. After the vigorous growth phase, the bacterial culture has at its disposal a smaller quantity of assimilable carbon source than it could metabolize on the basis of the structure of the strain and the quanitity of other necessary supplements provided in the nutrient medium.

  • Patent number: 5840551
Abstract: A method of producing L-amino acids by fermentation. Microorganisms of the genus Corynebacterium which exhibit an auxotrophy relative to an amino acid are used as biocatalysts. The method is characterized in that the carbon source on the one hand and the limiting amino acid on the other hand are fed in two or more different infeed currents to the process. The infeed profiles have, for example, a concave (saccharose) and an exponential (amino acid) form or a convex (saccharose) and likewise a convex (amino acid) form, with specific differing degrees of increase of the currents relative to each other over time.

  • Patent number: 5795732
Abstract: The invention is relates to improved stirred-tank reactors which are suitable, due to special fittings, for converting the results of e.g. microbial or enzymatic processes obtained when they are used on a laboratory scale into an industrial scale. A shaft-driven disk agitator is provided, with at least one perforated disk being attached in the reactor above and/or below the disk agitator.

  • Patent number: 5770409
Abstract: A process is disclosed for the fermentative preparation of amino acids, in which a strain of the genus Brevibacterium or Corynebacterium producing one or more amino acids is cultivated in a nutrient medium and the amino acids are isolated from the culture fluid at the end of fermentation. After the vigorous growth phase, the bacterial culture has at its disposal a smaller quantity of assimilable carbon source than it could metabolize on the basis of the structure of the strain and the quantity of other necessary supplements provided in the nutrient medium.
