    Abstract: Methods and systems for transmitting an interruption-free version of a television program for recording on a user equipment device. In one aspect, a system transmits a first stream including a television program to a user equipment device. The system receives an indication that the television program is being recorded on the user equipment device. The system determines whether an interruption is imminent during transmission of the television program. In response to determining that the interruption is imminent, the system generates a second stream including the television program. The second stream does not include the interruption during the transmission of the television program. The system transmits the second stream to the user equipment device along with an instruction to switch recording of the television program from the first stream to the second stream.

    Abstract: In some aspects, control circuitry detects a plurality of instances in which the number of requests to simultaneously stream media from a subscription service to different devices exceeds a number of streams available to the user from the subscription service. The control circuitry generates a plurality of timestamps corresponding to the plurality of instances, and compares each timestamp to a range of timestamps that corresponds to a subscription period for the subscription service in order to determine a number of instances that occurred during the subscription period. The control circuitry compares the number of instances that occurred during the subscription period to a threshold number for the subscription period. Control circuitry transmits a message, from the server to one of the different devices, if the threshold is exceeded.

The first portion may be stored at a user equipment device. The second portion may be stored at the mobile device. The home network may implement a custom Wi-Fi protocol that allows a first device on the home network to query a second device for an amount of storage space available on the second device. Each of the plurality of videos includes a hint that corresponds to a different one of a plurality of segments within the interactive video gaming environment. An action relating to game play in the interactive video gaming environment is received at the remote server from player equipment. A determination is made as to whether the action is associated with one of the plurality of segments. In response to determining the action is associated with one of the plurality of segments, one of the plurality of videos that includes the hint that corresponds to the one of the plurality of segments associated with the action is selected. The selected one of the plurality of videos is transmitted to the player equipment.

Control circuitry may determine an identity of each respective entity in each respective portion of the plurality of portions. Control circuitry may then access a database to determine a level of prevalence of each identity in the media asset. Based on these identifications, control circuitry may determine which respective entity corresponds to a highest level of prevalence (e.g., with respect to the other entities), and may generate for display a respective portion comprising the respective entity that corresponds to the highest level of prevalence.

Control circuitry may determine a frequency at which the media object occurs in other frames associated with the media asset. Control circuitry may compare the frequency to a threshold, and may determine, based on the comparing, that the frequency equals or exceeds the threshold. Based on determining that the frequency equals or exceeds the threshold, control circuitry may perform a search of a source external to a source of the media asset, where the search comprises searching for an indication that the media object comprises an Easter egg. Control circuitry may determine whether, based on the performing of the search, the indication was found, and, based on determining that the indication was found, execute a function relating to the Easter egg.

The media guidance application may also determine a property of the first media asset determining a property of the first media asset based on the first metadata and the second metadata. In response to determining that the second user rating is higher than the first user rating, the media guidance application may identify a second media asset that is associated with the property of the first media asset.
