  • Patent number: 8052062
Abstract: A method for providing energy-efficient temperature and humidity control with uniform ventilation air distribution in a constant-volume zoned heating and cooling systems. The method utilizes an air-to-air heat exchanger that regulates the temperature of the supply air to a space, using the temperature differential between supply air and return (room) air and regulating the flow of return air through the heat exchanger.

  • Publication number: 20110000347
Abstract: An adjustable torque limiter that can be coupled between a high speed driver and the socket that rotates a mechanical fastener. When a preset torque level is reached, the torque limiter disengages the rotational drive force from the bit. The adjustability of the torque limitation is accomplished by varying the amount of spring force by which a thrust plate (coupled to the high speed driver) is forced against a set of steel balls residing in slots of a radial torque plate and in a set of paths formed in a concavity of an upper torque body (coupled to the driven socket engaging stud). When a certain preset torque is transmitted from the driver to the socket, the steel balls traverse outward along the separate arced ramp radial paths therein the upper torque body until the balls enter an annular race that allows the thrust plate to go into a disengaged or free wheel mode from the upper torque body.

  • Patent number: 5893408
Abstract: A heat exchanger for cooling and/or dehumidifying a stream of air which eliminates the need for a large air diffusing plenum chamber. Heat conducting channel walls serve as the heat exchange surface for precooling and reheating air during the dehumidification process. The cooling conduits laterally intersect the airflow channels in order to force cooling to occur both in the intake and exhaust airflow channels, and the airflow is redirected 180.degree. in a small plenum chamber located at an end of the channels adjacent the cooling conduits. Adjustable dampers may be added for additional control of airflow in and out of intake and exhaust ports for the purpose of regulating the cooling and dehumidifying processes.

  • Patent number: 5718567
Abstract: In a micro diaphragm pump which has a pump body consisting of two parts, one part including two valve chambers with a pump chamber disposed therebetween and in communication with the valve chambers by passages, a diaphragm extends across and closes the chambers and forms, in the areas of the valve chambers, valve membranes for inlet and outlet valves which are integrally formed, both on one side of the diaphragm, both pump body parts being sealingly connected to the diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 5462640
Abstract: An etching solution for etching away a metal layer from a substrate includes a hydrogen-containing compound that dissolves the metal layer while developing hydrogen; and a nitrosubstituted organic compound having a nitro group which is easily hydratable and which has at least a 1/3 nitro group equivalent per mole of the hydrogen developed by reaction between the hydrogen-containing compound and the metal layer until the metal layer is dissolved completely. A method for etching employs the etching solution into which the substrate is immersed. The process of preventing the release of hydrogen gas during the etching away of a metal layer from a substrate is taught and includes employing an etching solution containing one of an acid or a highly basic metal hydroxide; and adding to the etching solution an organic nitro compound which is soluble in water and which is easily hydratable.

  • Patent number: 5246037
Abstract: Weft yarn faults encountered during the operation of rapier looms are corrected by correlating the detection of the fault to the angular position of the rotating main shaft of the loom. The loom has a shed with a giver side and a taker side, a giver rapier at the giver side and a taker rapier at the taker side. Position signals are stored in an electronic storage device for weft yarn faults which can occur at predetermined angular positions of the main shaft during operation of the loom. The weft yarn is monitored and a signal is generated when a faulty weft yarn is detected. This signal is compared with the position signals in a logic circuit to thereby determine the nature of the fault. After the nature of the fault has been determined, the faulty weft yarn is appropriately removed and, thereafter, weaving continues.

  • Patent number: 5074340
Abstract: A yarn selector unit of a loom has a number of feeders associated one each with a weft yarn. Each feeder is drivable by a tongue drivable selectively via a lever by way of a slide. The tongue and therefore the feeder are moved into a different position when it is required to present a weft yarn to a gripper or withdraw a weft yarn. The tongue is moved transversely by two actuators disposed opposite one another into a predetermined top or bottom position relative to the actuators by the action therefor. Positioning of the tongue relative to a tongue-moving slide is therefore always clearly defined so that misactuation of the yarn selector unit cannot occur.

  • Patent number: 4761966
Abstract: A self-regulating humidity, air temperature, and water temperature control system for indoor swimming pools and other high humidity water chambers comprises a circulating fan, a series of plenums and an air-to-air heat exchanger. Warm, humid air is drawn through one side of the heat exchanger by the fan to precool the exhaust air by thermal exchange with cooler air prior to passage through a dehumidification and cooling coil. The dehumidified and cooled air is then drawn back through the opposite side of the air-to-air heat exchanger to be preheated. A set of dampers operated by an actuator allows air to bypass the heat exchanger to regulate the amount of air that passes therethrough according to pool room air temperature.

  • Patent number: 4088047
Abstract: A method of producing cutting teeth for a chain saw each of which has a tooth roof and a base body cranked relative to the tooth roof along a substantially sharp edge. The method includes using as starting material a flat band which at least on one flat side of the flat band has a ridge-shaped projection extending in the longitudinal direction of the flat band. The method further includes cutting the band transverse to its longitudinal axis into sections so that each section has an overall size just sufficient for the formation of a cutting tooth to be formed, while the ridge-shaped projection divides each section into a shorter end portion and a longer end portion. The shorter end portion is bent to form the tooth roof, and the longer end portion is provided with a crank relative to the tooth roof.
