Abstract: An antenna device of a wireless phone is disclosed, which can effectively adjust directions of a helical antenna and a rod antenna so as to minimize any effect of electronic waves on a human body. A fitting metal and a contact part of a rod antenna guide are spaced apart from each other at a predetermined distance or the rod antenna guide has an inner diameter enough to rotate the fitting metal at a predetermined angle. A connecting rod fixed to a main body case of a wireless phone is provided at both ends of the fitting metal fitted into a helical antenna, and the fitting metal is rotated at a predetermined angle around the connecting rod. The angle of the antennas is adjusted when a stopper of the rod antenna is in contact with the helical antenna as the rod antenna moves.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a method to prevent soft handoff failures due to a faulty reverse wireless link. In general, when a BSC does not receive a handoff completion message from a mobile station, the BSC commands the mobile station to report the change of the active set a second time. The second report is then compared to a previous report to determine whether there is any change of the active set. In the case there is no change in the active set, the BSC commands the mobile station to perform the handoff. This method is efficient in that the entire soft handoff process need not be repeated in its entirety.

Abstract: A method for performing forward power control in a code division multiple access (CDMA) cellular communication system includes initializing and starting the forward power control. Additionally, a forward link transmission gain of a power transmitted from a base station to a mobile station is adjusted based on a value of an erasure indicator bit contained in a reverse traffic frame transmitted in a reverse traffic channel from the mobile station.
